People saying pack lunch instead of packed lunch

That is annoying. I favour ‘snap’, from my childhood in Derbyshire.
My biggest bugbear in this area though is people missing out the ‘to’ and saying things like ‘I need to go Tesco.’

I feel like that’s quite a recent thing.

Bizarre as it sounds, I would be happier with ‘I need to go Tescoing’. That would make more sense to me.

Its definitely meant to be a "packed" lunch, like if you have "packed" your toothbrush or "packed" your suitcase for a weekend away, you have "PACKED" your lunch for a trip out or to eat at school.

I also hate the word ‘meal’ for some reason. ‘Eating my meal’ just makes me shudder for some reaaon 🤷‍♀️

Agree! Pack is a verb, pack lunch is an instruction, or (as a pp said) a group lunchtime get-together for a bunch of Brownies. The correct expression is packed lunch.
