To feel everything I do is wrong?

I usually put the washing on the line but as Dh was home today, nope I was doing it wrong and after a lot of tutting he did it his way and when I went to bring it in he snatched the washing basket off me so he could do it “properly”

I am a qualified hairdresser but no he rather take them to a “proper” hair dressers ever thought on the occasion I have cut their hair he has been impressed and expects me to cut his hair every week.
I set boundaries for the kids regarding phone time and other devices but he overrides it and if I say they need a shower he will say, you can have one tomorrow.
If I override him by accident he makes a big deal but thinks nothing of overriding me.

Oh, you can’t live like that. He’s horrible.

I’m surprised you went on to have a third child with him tbh.

If you start divorce proceedings, he’ll likely leave.

Do you feel like you have no option but to stay until the kids are older?

No I feel like we like we have a joint tenancy which is social housing and he won’t leave unless he’s in a box and I can’t either so this is my life.

He's an arse.
But just out of interest, how can you bring washing in the wrong way?
I know some people - saddos - have views about how it should be hung out but I've never met anyone with views on how it should be brought in.

He is so passive aggressive, he mumbles criticism under his breath in the kitchen when I am just in the lounge next door so I can’t quite hear and will deny it.

So why are you putting up with this?

Sparrowsandbudgies · 24/09/2026 19:17

Why are you with him? He’s sucking the life out of you.

Have you tried telling him how this behaviour makes you feel?

Yea and he denies it.

We can all give you validation that he sounds like a knob. But you already know that. What do you think you need to do to change the situation you’re in? Talk to him? Counselling? De-centering him? LTB?

sunisntshining · 24/09/2026 18:59

I have 3 kids 1, 8, 10 I am a full time carer to middle child who he losss his temper with.

Doesn't like you much, does he?

Smallpoxy · 24/09/2026 18:57

You need couple's councelling. Good luck.

SerendipityCat · 24/09/2026 18:56

Going on what you've told us so far, op, he's a massive twat. Now, what are you going to do about it?

HelpfulHelena · 24/09/2026 18:56

What a horrible man.

How many children do you have OP and what are their ages? Do you go to work? Do you want to stay in your marriage?
