Am I unreasonable to resent my husband's work from home desk taking space?

I live in a 3 bed flat with husband, 5 year old and 1 year old daughter. We have a big bedroom and 2 other rooms that are fairly small. The plan was for my girls to share a room initially (can fit two beds or bunks) and leave the other room for a play room / dressing room for them. If them sharing doesn’t work out we’ were going to move baby into own room. My husband recently got a new job and annoyingly it’s mainly hybrid (turns out he’ll be working from home most the time)
it’s good because he’ll be able to do school pick ups etc more but he needs a big desk for 2 monitors+ laptop. Am I being unreasonable to find it annoying? I am just not keen on all his work stuff taking over our flat and him not being able to switch off as easily. Also would it be better to put big desk in our bedroom or cram into kids playroom do you think? We spend most the time in lounge so don’t want it there. Any tips for making wfh feel less intrusive and desk that keep things organised but don’t take up so much room/ look nice?

Cant imagine the mornings or afters afterschool and holidays will be much fun
And as PP said, hes going to end up spending up to 15hrs a day in there.

Yes, I was going to suggest this. Is renting an office somewhere closeby
an option?

He needs to have a room thats his study so he can work properly at home
The girls can use the sitting room as their playroom

Does baby go to nursery? When my LO was little I had my desk for wfh in his room because when I was working he was at nursery. And because he was in a cot any wires etc didn’t matter.

He doesn't need a big ass desk. My DH works from home full-time and has 2 monitors plus 2 laptops and his desk was my sewing machine table before he stole it from me isn't big, it's no more than medium size and it also fits a printer on it. In fact, I've just gone and measured it and it's 115cm x 77cm. He doesn't have a big ass chair either, just a normal kitchen table chair from ikea.

No point resenting the job if it allows school pick ups! Flexible working is great if you need to do school/nursery runs.

I'd definitely put the desk in the master bedroom. Have you thought of something like this? It fits two screens

For a desk in the living room consider wall mounting a 32inch Frame TV on the wall for the monitor. When not in use and in art mode the frame tv (especially if styled well) really blends in and looks like a piece of art

Monitors don’t actually need to be on the desk. They can go on arms which attach to the desk and swing out when needed. DS needs 3 monitors but his desk isn’t huge as he’s in a room in a house share so space for working has to be in his bedroom. Ikea has lots of desk options in their office section which could work in a bedroom. If your bedroom is large you could screen it off so it’s less obtrusive in non-working hours.

It’s not ideal in any scenario but you might just have to make the best of it. We are in a 2 bed flat and we both work from home with 1 DD. My husband has a big desk in our bedroom with 2 monitors. I have a very small desk with just enough space for a laptop and a mouse in DDs bedroom with a desk chair that tucks in neatly underneath. It’s not great but as DD is in wraparound care I don’t work when she is at home so we make it work.

Big desk in your room. Working from home is a gift. I'm a teacher and I have no flexibility. My husband works from home and does school drop offs and pick ups, dentist, doctor appointments etc. It has been a life saver.

You can wall mount the second monitor to reduce the desk size
