AIBU to think Boy George should retire from performing now?

To think Boy George should give up now .

His is absolutely crap. His voice is weak, he struggles to sing, and he sounds awful. 😞

I noticed he's got a concert in December and it's £499 to have a couple of photos taken close to him. 😳

Some of these has beens should retire now.

Alot of people who maybe liked his stuff in the 80s, have grown up and moved on.
They certainly don't want to be ripped off listening to that drivel. 🫨

After a photoshoot an intoxicated Boy George locked my (straight) photographer friend in the back of a car and (quite seriously) refused to let him out unless he agreed to recieve oral sex.
Eventually BG was convinced to let him out by one of his hangers on, but as the photoshoot was in the middle of nowhere my friend had to wait outside the house for a taxi to collect him during which BG groped him repeatedly and slapped him round the face for pulling away when he tried to kiss him
A few weeks later BG's team specifically requested my friend for another photoshoot (again in the middle of nowhere) and eventually pulled out of the magazine interview when he refused."

There is a time to bow out gracefully from a career, and unfortunately, for BG that time passed a decade or two ago. He has now become a sad parody.

He still owes Jon Moss money, so will continue to tour. On his tour in December 2024 people were leaving early because he was rubbish (was there for one of the support acts), they won't be taken in again and I think it will have poor ticket sales.

He was a lead act at carfest one year. Dual stages. Came on late, agitated about sound quality and feeds with his female backing singers. No other act had had an issue all afternoon or evening. He was unpleasant. Ive known Culture Club and Boy George music since the 80s, but never seen him live. I finally left early when he started to take credit for the Crying Game - fantastic movie but BG involvement? Unknown to me at that point, before and afterwards. Not keen at all.

He probably can’t afford to. Didn’t he have to pay a lot of money to someone following a legal dispute? I know he sold his house not that long ago.
I feel that once you’ve committed the sort of crime he did you should be cancelled.

He ought to be in prison not performing at concerts.
He hasn't been able to sing for years anyway. Sounds absolutely terrible.

I'm certainly no fan of Boy George, but I rather think that when he retires is up to him, not anyone else.

He served his time so that’s why he’s not been cancelled, also at the time there was no sympathy coverage towards his victim and with the victim being a male sex worker, it’s hardly surprising.

Sure, his voice hasn’t been good for a long time but then you can say that about a lot of people in the public eye. Boy George is hardly unique in that respect.

I saw him in moulin rouge on Broadway a couple of years ago and he was decent. Not amazing, not awful. Competent. But obviously a lesser part in a larger show.

If there are 'folks' who still want to pay to see him, then who am I to think he should stop? A fool and his money and all that 🤣🤣.

I think he’s disgusting, the only reason he wasn’t “cancelled” after being convicted of assaulting that man was because people are scared of being called homophobic.
He’s a sex offender and a misogynist and I wouldn’t even go to his concert if I was given free tickets
