I'm saying no matter who earns what, no man will ever be able to equal what a woman does by having children

Yes it takes sperms big deal, compared to the womans contribution and risk to HER life and health
And ps there's plenty of sperms banks these days

And if you are right, then what? What are you saying? I agree that women do a lot more but that doesn't mean parents can't parent equally although in most cases don't.

I still don't understand the point you are trying to make...

You think a woman who chooses to have a child is superior to a man ? No matter what he ever contributes to society, he will never be equal to that woman?

I think that’s exactly what they mean. It’s clearly bollocks

But the birth is just one small element of raising a child which I think can easily be made up for by a caring, supportive partner who takes on 50% of the responsibility for all but the first 24 hours of the child’s life….!

I didn’t have such a partner and he’s long gone now but none of the things I ever resented him for was me having to push the babies out.

Not sure what periods have got to do it one way or another, we would have those without partners or kids 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m talking about the younger generation of men, that date my niece
that expect to go 50/50 and if they want to move in together and they want it all 50/50
is all fine and good until you get to the point of having Children

that’s when it shakes up entirely
and I’m sick of men not understanding this
the audacity is insane

Not all women give birth. Or have periods, if born without a uterus.

Clearly but most do

I don’t think women ought to pay less than 50/50 just because they go through childbirth, menopause, periods or whatever.

Of course if a 50/50 split isn’t fair and proportionate to income in any relationship the person of any gender paying more than their fair share ought to pay less (recognise this is particularly likely after childbirth due to maternity leave etc) but has nothing to do with the act of giving birth!

WhatTheCatHeard · 20/09/2026 17:30

I’m sick of men being entitled
I mean you see the comment some make to women on social media
could be comment likes
ohhh bit chubby or something
when he’s like super obese

all that crap

they are soooo entitled

Presumably, they are not thinking that far ahead. I am not going to insist a man pays 100% of everything when I move in with him just because, hypothetically, we might have a child one day.
We would have this discussion at an appropriate time not on the first date FFS.

So one very specific scenario, that you chose not to explain initially

So many variables...A woman may still be a higher earner after children following pregnancy and maternit leave. She may choose to go back to work full time and him part time. They may chose not to have children. Nothing wrong with 50/50 contributions that are reassessed depending on life circumstances for each couple at specific times of life

They are, but times are changing. They do have to bring something to the table for the younger gen. Young women are getting wiser. There’s hope.

Are you single?

Do you have kids of your own?

Why are you so angry about your niece's chosen boyfriends?

And sperm isn't a major contribution from a man?

Without sperm from men, you do realise she could never be a mother?

None of us could ever be mothers?

Naurrr · 20/09/2026 17:34

I'm childfree and that is priceless to me ☺️

Does your niece want to pay less bills because she has periods? Seems strange, but I am pretty confused by the thread.

So, in other words, you believe women are entitled to receive unlimited and unquestionable financial support from a man on account of them being women? And then you call men entitled in the very same breath...
