If someone leaves a room is it reasonable to expect that they close the door behind them, if the door was previously closed?

Yes, YABU. Get up and close it if you want it shut.

What I hate is when someone (DH) leaves a door ajar / off the latch. 90% closed. No! Just close it properly! Or leave it fully open.

Depends a bit. If it’s someone’s bedroom and they’re relaxing in there with the door closed, I go in and chat then leave, I’d close the door to maintain their privacy.

If I’m walking through the house going in and out of rooms, and there’s no particular need for doors to be closed or open (eg nobody is trying to sleep in there or shut out noise from a diff bit of the house, or keep cooking smells in) I wouldn’t mind at all whether the door was closed or open. So I wouldn’t think “oh must leave it how I found it”. It’s fine for some doors to just be open sometimes.
