AIBU to think we all have too many clothes?

I love clothes!
But I, too, have too many things i don't wear, just knocking about. Our spare room is an absolute disgrace
I'm about to clear it out & donate / recylce a load of it
I've bought a hanging rail & plan to seperate out my work wardrobe which will make things easier in the mornings

Yes, far too many! I used to love going shopping for clothes and fond it difficult to get rid of the what is. Of i was honest I probably wear less than 20% of the ones in the bedroom alone.

My items aren't expensive, mostly vinted now, but I seem to find excuses to hang on to too many.

Also yes due to accessibility to buy cheap, online, supermarkets etc so same for DC as well. When I was younger I really didn't have many at all, especially student days, so I guess being able to shop was like a treat when I started earning a better salary.

Look back, life was so much simpler with fewer outfits and actually very happy!

My nan used to safety pin a post it note to every item of clothing she owned on 1st January, then take the safety pin and post it note off when she wore something. Then the next year 1st January anything that still had the safety pin attached hadn’t been worn all year and therefore went to the charity shop

Well this thread inspired me to go through my pairs of jeans, I wss gobsmacked to find 7 pairs in my wardrobe! I tried them all on and 4 pairs are going to the charity shop.
