From experience, I know they sell 1.5 - 2 plots at the local cemetery, if someone is very large and needs that space. There are a lot of larger people out there, so I'm sure they make caskets to fit everyone.

I'm not a doctor and no expert on this stuff, but it could be possible that the risks of being morbidly obese are bigger than the risk of thyroid cancer if you got the injections. Also, knowing the family history, you can be monitored for that. Have you sought multiple opinions OP?

But have you thought about self referring for CBT?
It’s easy to do online and it could help with your problems.
You sound very down but you can start to help yourself, stop eating sugar and ultra processed food.
Excercise alone won’t make you lose weight but eating the right foods will and I can guarantee if you take the first step and cut out sugar, the weight will fall off you.
If walking is a problem, go swimming.
You can do this Apple 🍎 you can be a new you by next Summer.

My late aunt made sumo wrestlers look thin, and there was a coffin to fit her. It needed quite a team of pall bearers.

Can I ask why you aren’t able to get help from GP in regards to weight loss injections? Surely you would be eligible and I’m so sorry you’re struggling

At 26 stone, it's hard to believe that you don't qualify for the drugs. But, another option might be bariatric surgery. I really think you should explore both those options thoroughly.

Lots of people have lost in the region of 15 stone or more! Look up their stories.

Obesity and it's related conditions are likely to kill you before GLP induced thyroid cancer if it happened.
I think you need to push for Mounjaro. It could literally save your life.

Coffins were fine and availble, no issues, but more money ofcourse...
They were wheeled in rather than carried by people, but no issues what so ever

You certainly won’t be the first overweight person they’ll have dealt with, we’re getting bigger as a society and they’ll be adapting their practices to it all the time. Be kind to yourself and remember it’s better to be fat than be a horrible person xx

You can have a custom coffin made to fit any size person and some really funky shapes (I've seen them shaped like cars etc) but they cost an absolute fortune (even more than a "standard" coffin which are ridiculously expensive in the 1st place and why most people rent 1 for cremation)

Get rid of 'treat' type foods from the house - too much of a temptation. Move around as much as possible, even if only indoors. What do you like doing? eg gardening & plan for next spring, get bulbs, sketch what you'd like..

I have been to a fair few cremations. In every single case the deceased was in a coffin.

Ive been almost as heavy as you OP and people that havent wont know that the most strange things are fearful to us, needing an ambulance and people to lift you into it, dying and needing a big coffin and worrying about who on earth could lift the thing up, falling over and not being able to get back up again because I couldnt lift myself off the floor, or falling over and needing crutches but knowing I wouldnt be able to support my weight with them. Fitting on toilets, through gates, into showers, into seats, the list is endless

I had weight loss surgery. I would have continued on the jabs but just couldnt inject myself and so was avoiding them and wasting money

Firstly in your case I would contact other suppliers who will prescribe with your family history. PPs are right, the risk to you right now is very very high of obesity related morbidity or life changing illness

Secondly, if that really isnt an option I would think about surgery, do some research, lots of them have payment plans (I borrowed over 2 years to afford mine)

Get your GP to refer you to the NHS bariatric service. You cant do this alone. Ive lost a vast amount of weight and its changed my life. If they can't precribe mounjaro its likely they can do a gastric sleeve or bypass. Im still seeing them they support you for a long time. Im now 9 stone.

It is only a rare type of thyroid cancer , medullary thyroid carcinoma, that is contra-indicated for WLI, most other types are not. So you could explore this again. There will certainly be coffins big enough for you but it is true some crematoriums have width restrictions. Hope you are able to find help to support weight loss
