You were on a shared pavement not a running track, you had to slow down to go round an owner and 3 dogs taking up the pavement - that’s what everyone does for each other when there is not enough space on the pavement, whether it is wheelchair, wobbly toddler on a scooter, two people holding hands, or a person walking their dogs.

YANBU. Most dog owners also like to inflict their dogs on others. I genuinely think some dog breeds need to be banned from most places and more rules in place / stricter regulations and actual punishments when dogs escape gardens/ aren’t on leads/ shit everywhere 🤢. Too many people cannot control their dogs and cba to look after them properly. I realise I have gone completely off track with this rant 😆

I don't mind dogs but I am more of a cat person. where I live there is a LOT of lazy dog owners that don't pick up after there dog. I often wonder how one of these owners that don't pick up their dogs poo react if they stepped in another dogs poo?

I'm sorry about your mum BishBash, I hope things ease soon. I'm glad you found solace in the therapy dog, a relative of mine with dementia used to love the therapy dog that came to her nursing home. One day if I get the right dog I'd love to train it up and pass all the assessments required to bring that happiness or peace to others.

But the odd horrible child needs to be held as responsible as the bad dog, and the irresponsible owner. The parents of such kids are equally culpable.

Agree, but I live in a rural area where people have livestock and dogs and children, and they are all expected to rub along, for the most part. There will be the occasional bad dog, and the occasional horrible child.

You sound really intolerant. I find I can get along with dogs, runners, cyclists, toddlers on scooters, mums with buggies , slow elderly folks, and all sorts of people, trying to get from A to B without having a rant on social media.

No one said you were lying. I merely pointed out that as someone with an awful lot of experience of dogs and dog walking, what you describe is not the “norm” and my experience does not suggest that most dog walkers don’t consider others.
The vast, vast majority of dog walkers that I come across are polite, with well trained dogs. We walk past, exchange a polite good morning, all dogs off lead, with no issues. That is my “norm”. An occasional asshole yes, but not every week or even every month.

I don't really think it's dog owners any more than any other group. It's just people in general, 90% of the time are pricks. I've mostly started assuming everyone else is a cunt unless proven otherwise.
