To ask what you would wear in Rome in November?

I’m travelling there for a week, one small hand luggage only bag!!

I’m plus size, size 16-18 and looking at the average weather it seems to be about 16° or so in the day and cooler at night.

I feel a little lost on what I need! It doesn’t seem like summer clothes would be suitable, but neither would winter by the looks of it!

The boring answer is layers.

Are you happy to carry a small rucksack or large bag with a water/showerproof jacket?

Check the forecast before you go. It's still 30+ degrees this week. I don't think past averages count for much with the way European weather is these days.

shower proof trench
x 2 jeans/trousers - one pair for sight seeing, one for evenings
x2 vest
x2 t-shirt
x2 shirt
cardigan
sweatshirt
(mix and match all the tops)
trainers/boots
red lipstick, massive hoop earrings and silk scarf to go from day to evening!
What ever you wear to travel in, wear both directions

Been there in early Nov and it was getting chilly in the evenings, would need a light sweater and jacket. Nice during day, like a summer's day in Scotland, so not sleeveless tops & shorts, more light layers to add and subtract as necessary. Occasional heavy rain showers, check forecast in case you need a brolly.

Locals will be in their jeans and puffa jackets!

I wouldn't go for a week with just a small hand bag and that's with me rewearing my clothes more than the average Mumsnetter. I'd just pay the extra £50 or whatever for a second bag and free myself from the hassle. If you're going with a partner/friend, the cheapest way will probably be to book one hold bag to share.

You need to check the weather forecast just before you go and plan accordingly but I'd expect that you'll need a variety of clothes due to temperature variation and also if it rains.
