HELP! Can I eat pork sausages one day past their use-by date?

Would you eat a pack of pork sausages one day past the use by date? Have been kept in the fridge the whole time. Don’t smell weird. Getting paranoid - would you risk it or not???? Speedy responses appreciated as currently cooking them but wondering whether to bin them and start again with something else

No way. They are fatally poisonous, since exactly midnight last night. If you'd eaten them at 11.59pm you'd be in the clear, but no later than that

I've just had a flashback to my daughter (who is always a bit odd) eating raw sausages that she found in the back of the fridge. They were at least a month out of date and she didn't even cook them (she was about ten, she's now in her thirties and still a bit odd, but not dead from sausage-poisoning).

Sausages one day out of date- absolutely, no issue at all.
Chicken mince 3 days out of date - definitely not!

i’m sure they would start to smell sour before the mould set in. You’ll be fine if they smell ok

Producers usually build in quite a margin of error.

Morally there is no difference between eating pigs and eating dogs. I don't think one day will make any difference.

I bought some Richmond meat free in co op got them home and they had white furry spots on. Went in the bin I'm sure you would know if they're off there would be the little furry clusters on them. Just overcook them a bit perhaps but I'm sure they will be fine OP

They are processed to hell, of course they're fine to eat for a couple of days post expiry.

No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't mind with other things but definitwly not with meat or fish. I don't even eat it on its last day.

Coop near us selling out of date milk the other day. Just met with shrug from staff when I pointed it out. Nothing to do with sausages 😀 . Hope you enjoy them.

Personally I wouldn't, I've managed to never give myself food poisoning before and wouldn't risk changing that!

If it looks all right and smells all right, I'll eat it. And I'll happily cut mouldy bits off cheese and eat the rest, which my MIL finds absolutely horrifying.

I have cast-iron guts though. I've only ever had two stomach upsets, and one of those was proper food poisoning (campylobacter), contracted from eating in a pub that had appalling kitchen hygiene and came close to being closed down.

They’ll be fine.

The open bottle of milk in our fridge is 4 days “out of date”, but my motto is that if you have to sniff the milk more than once to determine whether it’s gone off, it’s not gone off.

They smell sweet if they have gone off and they won't have done!
