HELP! Can I eat pork sausages one day past their use-by date?

Would you eat a pack of pork sausages one day past the use by date? Have been kept in the fridge the whole time. Don’t smell weird. Getting paranoid - would you risk it or not???? Speedy responses appreciated as currently cooking them but wondering whether to bin them and start again with something else

As long as they'd been stored properly and didn't smell off then absolutely yes, I'd eat them.

They will be fine as long as you have stored them in the fridge continuously since you bought them and your fridge is fully functioning.

They are not mould. You are talking about something ONE DAY past it's use by date - the sausages don't know what day it is.

Probably not, just bin them is it worth making your self sick over.

I once found a chicken casserole ready meal in the freezer. Cooked and ate it then while sorting out box for recycling noticed it was 18 months out of date. I'm still alive, no ill effects at all. And I've also eaten sausages a week past the date!!

If you’d not noticed the date you’d be looking at the green bits and thinking “oooh, what lovely herby sausages…”

The chances of her being sick due to sausages one day past a very conservative use by date must be close to zero, so is it worth wasting perfectly good food for a risk that is probably non existent. I eat something like that a day out of date most weeks due to buying yellow stickers and eating the next day. Have never been ill.

It's probably parsley. A day out of date is nothing these days especially if kept in the fridge. Enjoy.

Sausages will have a higher salt content so will have plenty of preservatives in them. The science of sell by dates is not so accurate as to predict within 24 hrs so food does not suddenly turn the minute the date passes. One day to form mould isn’t happening green bits likely seasoning.

I've just looked at the chicken mince I'm having for tea and noticed that the use by date is 13 September. It smells alright and I'm going to cook it.

Pretty sure I'll survive.
