Vile. I can't comprehend the other competitors voluntarily crawling through her shit behind her or sitting on her equipment. There's no way on earth I would have continued. She's disgusting obviously but what possessed the others to carry on covered in her shit. The mind boggles.

I never did quite get to the bottom (arf!) of it about Paula Radcliffe. I recall people at the time saying that she'd curled one out, and then Paula herself said that it had only been a wee... so is it the case that people deliberately embellished what actually happened for dramatic effect; or was Paula maybe telling a little porkie to try to mitigate her embarrassment?!

Doesn't mean that it isn't gross or anything or that they shouldn't be penalised for shitting all over equipment, but it's nothing new in professional running.

As a runner I’m bemused by the impression I’m getting that people think this is commonplace. I’ve taken part in countless races and never once seen someone shit themselves. I’ve cycled with people who’ve gone so hard they have ‘bonked’ and still not seen anyone shit themselves.

Whenever a fellow runner has told me they’ve had a bad gut, energy gels or supplements have been involved, but they’ve still managed to avoid running with shit pouring down their legs.

Frankly, the woman in the Hyrox incident looks mentally unstable to continue.

Going forward there is going to be a change. It was already announced. How they didn’t have a rule for this when every major event does baffles me but whatever. Cross country skiing is worse!

Well, I do think it’s gross, but can’t get too upset about it until we clean up our public spaces. Dog shit on pavements and in parks. Worse than human shit.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting she deliberately shit herself. She did however deliberately continue and share that shit with others.

It’s ridiculous, of course she should have been stopped, it’s only a bloody gym competition that means zero in the grand scheme of life. Proper competitors accept sometimes things happen that you can’t finish an event. But then most people who I know who do hyrox, it does seem to drive them a bit demented

Hyrox is nothing like a marathon. All the equipment is shared. She was lying on the floor doing burpees and someone else a few metres back was having to follow her in the same lane to do their burpees. When her shit was all over the floor! And she got it all over the equipment other people use. She should have pulled out and if not, the race organisers absolutely should have pulled her. She probably won because the other competitors were struggling to compete in and around all her excrement.

This is revolting and horrifying. However I doubt she did it deliberately, intense exercise diverts blood away from the digestive system and can lead to an involuntary voiding of the bowels, I think it's connected to the fight or flight response.

I’d - maybe - have more sympathy for her if it was the first time it had happened to her… but it wasn’t, but she didn’t win the other time it happened so it didn’t make the news.

Yuk disgusting and and a nasty health hazard. Why didn't they pull her out of the race?
