I can sort of understand in a marathon because the only way people will come into contact with the mess is maybe it going on their shoe, in this case it was smeared over the rowing machine, the carpet and the other bits of equipment.

There are people online trying to compare it to women getting their period. It's nothing like that!

There will be people making notes and actually planning to exploit this 'technique' to give themselves an unfair advantage. Why bother training yourself to become the best, when you can just win by default, by eliminating any possible competition from being anywhere near to you?

She should of been made to quit. It would of put off her competitors, not to mention the smell of shit everywhere... if she knew running makes her shit herself she should of prepared and worn pads or something!

as I said upthread, HYROX has rules in place to disqualify contestants who spit or shoot snot out their noses to the floor - but shit yourself is ok?

I just think it’s a bit selfish. I’m not all that squeamish by and large, I’ve cleaned up my fair share of shit, but this could very really have disadvantaged her competitors. She should have been removed from the competition and the affected equipment sterilised.

I started running a couple of years ago and I didn’t realise that for some people it really… gets things moving. I’ve never shat myself but I’m always running on the treadmill closest to the loo. I think it’s fine they let her finish but they should put a rule in place for health and safety.

Seems she is a top “elite” level in Hyrox, which brings money and sponsorship, which I think is why they didn’t pull her out.

I'm not into Hyrox myself, but if I was and happened to be the poor sod behind her I'd end up having to stop and leave myself. I'd be so grossed out.

She may have had a stomach bug, which is now spreading to everyone else. She may have just been working at such an intense level her body reacted as such - but if so, people need to step in and stop the athlete. If you're crapping yourself because you're so exhausted then you're working out far too hard and it's not healthy!

Yeah, I think in this instance I think she should have gone home. There are limits, and arguably a win isn’t a win if it involves inadvertently sabotaging the course for the other competitors.

That’s utterly vile and lacking in all dignity. She should have been forced for her own good and for others’ health and safety to leave the course and clean herself up.
Also just to uphold basic standards of humanity and respect for competitors and others. We aren’t animals, we can’t just be sh*tting everywhere.

She should have been made to disinfect the course and equipment. That would teach her a lesson. Why should others have to clean up her disgusting mess?
