Bj initials?

To name a baby a name that gives her the initials bj?

there would be a middle name but still. I worry about peers mocking too

Maybe times have changed but my awful ex husband had these initials and nobody ever commented.
Not something I ever thought of but I suppose it depends on your life experience, social circle and cultural references.
I knew him from childhood and nobody at school, college or university ever mentioned such an issue.

I think if you kid has a very strong bullish personality it can be ok.

If they’re an ordinary kid, or worse shy or otherwise awkward, then you leave them open for bullying

Anyone who lived in Preston as a kid remember a hotdog place near Debenhams called BJs?

Only mentioning because what did everyone think of first?

Don't make your child's life unnecessarily difficult, especially as the effect will be greatest in the early stages of their life.

Every time I see the office and see B J Novak’s name I wonder why the hell he doesn’t use one of his names instead of using those initials!!

We really liked boys names with BJ as initials so we didn’t use it, I wouldn’t.

I used to know someone with a name similar to Brian James Robinson, who was happily known to everyone as BJ.
It started to seem normal eventually!

No, just no. Life is hard - don't start your child's life off with a name that will invite sniggers and wry looks. There are hundreds, thousands of other names. As I used to say to my small children when they were about to do something silly, "What good will come of this?"

I always associate BJ with the character from M.A.S.H rather than anything else in fact it was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this thread not sure if that makes me naive or just old

I dated a guy who's initials were BJ I cringed every time he's mum called him by it!
