Trans men are women according to Gender Critical Movement

ThisPinkWyvern · 22/02/2025 02:04

Under Trump's transgender policy, which echoes the ideology of the Gender Critical Movement, trans women are men and trans men are women. This view denies and rejects as worthless and baseless the lived experience of millions of men and women in the US who identify as trans. As a result of having their lived experience of themself ignored and denied by law, millions of trans men as well as trans women are now experiencing deep psychological trauma and living in abject fear and terror in the US. Many are trying to leave the country because they are so terrified.

The almost total silence of the Gender Critical Movement and it's supporters about the effect that it's ideology has had on those hundreds of thousand of women who self identify as men is deafening. It's whole argument about banning trans women from female public toilets and other ' women only spaces' is based on the argument that denying trans women the right to access these spaces is needed to protect the safety of women and girls. Given the fear, terror and trauma that hundreds of thousands of women( trans men) are now experiencing in the US, as a result of the government putting into practise Gender Critical Movement ideology, the sense of safety and well-being of hundreds of thousands of women has been devastated. This makes the infinitesimally small number of cases where women have been or ever would be assaulted by a trans woman in a women only space pale into insignificance by comparison.

In short, the Gender Critical Movement is directly responsible for harming the well being of hundreds of thousands of WOMEN according to it's own ideology. The damage done by implementing it's ideology makes a sickening mockery of it's claim that it's ideology protects the safety of women and girls.

When the number of men( trans women) in the US who are now living in fear and terror in the US is taken into account as well, the Gender Critical Movement and all those who support it are directly responsible for terrorising millions of people. It is impossible to claim that we are supporting women's rights and protecting the safety of women if we support the Gender Critical Movement.

lol of course they’re not, otherwise they’d just be women wouldnt they?

and you might not be bothered about women being redefined as “adult human females and men who perform larp of female stereotypes” but I bloody do.

how about if redefine children to mean “juvenile humans and adults should really feeeel young”? Or drivers “to people who passed their driving test and people who didn’t but really feeel like they can drive’?

Why do you care about being a women or what it means be a woman though?? I'm a cisgender woman and couldn't give a sht who called themselves one. It doesn't effect anything or any of our rights.

I think there’s been some discussion of risk on here.

This is an article (archive version, courtesy of another thread) by Kathleen Stock that spells out some of the issues very clearly.

This is a good read. Thanks for archive link borntobequiet.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/02/2025 10:20

Do people really think this line of argument is likely to be convincing to anyone else?

"Trans women are women so I have no idea why any of you are objecting to these women who are just the same as other women using women's spaces"

It's because they are men. Any man, however absurd it is, and however misogynistic that man is, according to your mantra can say he is a woman tomorrow and you will have to respect that he is and has always been a woman, and let him speak over women about his marginalised experience of being a male woman.

That's the problem here.

They aren't though. They are men. Facts are important.

Pity you weren't in med school with me so. You're all so ignorant in the UK when it comes to transpeople. Is it not being thought in schools or through the NHS?

Why do you all even care if someone calls themselves their correct gender. It doesn't threaten anyone or anything. Please get educated.

Transwomen are women. They don't effect my daily life as a woman so why would I care about what they do.

Lots of things don’t affect my daily life as a woman, but I care about them, as do many other women.

Transwomen are men, biological males. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t be trans.

Where the poster, a known regular, despite the name change. posted a thread that mischaracterised other regular postersactions while never acknowledging their own negative generalisations in their posts and that they resort to personal attacks as they did on that thread.

Something they conveniently didn’t mention. The name change didn’t hide who the poster was.

They also never acknowledged how that thread appeared on another social media platform where posters are regularly bullied.

I hear myself being discussed?

Lovely misrepresentation of the linked thread, Hellofabore.

And you are obsessed with name changes. Posters have every right to name change, and in fact, it's a good practice to keep up. I do it for a few reasons: I don't want my post history to be spliced together and linked back to me; I don't wish to be tracked across the forum; and within FWR foul comments about a previous name caused me to change that.

If you are implying someone on this thread is actually me, I guess you can shelve that theory now. 😄

I am not implying anyone on this thread was you at all. I made the point about the linked thread because the other poster referred to you. Not because I believed you were on the thread. Whether you were even on this thread was not relevant.

I am not obsessed with me changers. I notice patterns in posting just as others do.

I also encourage anyone who wants to name change to do so, just like I encourage anyone who wishes to post on MN to do so. MN is great, we should all be on here reading and discussing as much as possible about topics that interest us.

Transw are men, it's the sole and absolute qualification. Wearing a skirt and make-up doesn't make them women.

Why are you always so rude and patronising?

I notice patterns in people's writing styles. If someone else sounded like you I wouldn't think anything of it. It's an anonymous internet forum. I have more interesting things going on in my life that playing MN Miss Marple and feeling proud of myself for thinking I bested the name changers and announcing in a superior way i know who you are! You don't fool me!

I find it strange. And I can only see two motivations for it, either to make yourself look clever, or to intimidate people into thinking their anonymity isn't real and you know who they are. Neither are nice.

FYI, you've accused me of being a regular poster under another user name before. Only I wasn't, because it was my first and only username at the time and I hadn't been here long. So not as all knowing as you think.

I actually don’t claim to be all knowing.

But as others have already answered, sometimes you can tell who has posted before under a different name. Particularly when the poster has made it the very first line in their opening post.

There's a difference between knowing they name changed, and claiming that it was irrelevant because you still know who they are though isn't there.

Some people absolutely know for a fact when certain people change usernames. They don’t have to guess from writing styles.

I always think its like being able to tell if someone is trans, i think it ranges from people who will be able to tell every single time and people who will never be able to tell

when it comes to spotting posters i can never tell

Gallstoned · 23/02/2025 09:42

Booboobagins · 22/02/2025 15:58

They can transition to another gender in law. Therefore whether you're saying gender is or isn't a real thing is a moot point.

If you have nothing constructive to say that helps people who want to change their gender, then perhaps best to say nothing.

@Booboobagins

How do you change gender?
How do you live as a woman if you are biologically male?

If only they would just quietly get on with their lives, in ways that don't remove biological women's rights.

If that's what the majority are doing then why is "trans women are women" rammed down peoples throats, why is a nurse trying to get changed in a woman's changing room losing her job for objecting to the presence of a biological male whilst she attempted to change soiled clothes caused by with peri meno flooding. Why why why for all the other things women are supposed to accept from deluded men?

Well exactly this.

There is a world of difference between someone asking to be accepted/not ridiculed if they want to present in opposite clothing/style choices.

Compared to someone asking society to affirm a lie that they are actually the opposite sex and treat them as such, no exceptions - regardless of the impact this has on everyone else.

The extremists completely overshot, into demands that are totally self centred and not good for society at large. I feel really bad for the quiet trans contingent of group number one. They are victims of the extremists and they don't deserve that. But unfortunately they got shouted down.

Smallsalt · 23/02/2025 09:21

Bigcat25 · 22/02/2025 02:33

Jesus, not everything is about the bathroom. They aren't safe or wanted in America. A trans person I know was just asked by a maga guy if she had any spare bullets. Most trans people are trying to get on with there lives and mind there own business, but that doesn't grab headlines like the few that are benefitting from women's sports.

If only they would just quietly get on with their lives, in ways that don't remove biological women's rights.

That is interesting, thanks for raising the issue. Do name changes confuse you so you can only recognise patterns in posters who don’t change their usernames, and don’t see patterns in posters who change usernames?

It was the very first sentence.

Yeah I saw that.

I think you know that. So why the sarcasm?

Trans women are men according to Biology.

There, fixed it for you.

Enough4me · 23/02/2025 08:19

Jamie in photos looks male but in videos the face shape, neck shape, face and body movements, build, particularly around the shoulders and chest area looks different. The voice is not feminine but not distinctly adult male.
Jamie is like a bigger version of my son before puberty started at around 11(he suddenly shot up at this age, neck, shoulders, build started to change and his voice became distinctly male).

BreatheAndFocus · 23/02/2025 07:54

forgotmyusername1 · 23/02/2025 07:30

I don't think I would clock Jamie Raines. Partly because he is 6ft 2 so unusually tall for someone born female.

If he were 5ft 4 (average female height) then I probably would

I’ve never seen videos of Jamie standing up so, although I know their height, that doesn’t affect my perception of their sex. Watching videos of Jamie and their wife, it’s like watching two women chat and joke. Some transmen look more masculine than others, but I always think Jamie appears very feminine. Hard to explain but the vibe given off is that of a female person. Look at Jamie and imagine the facial hair and swollen nose gone. Those things both stand out to me as ‘wrong’ on Jamie’s face.
