To be really glad I don't live in America right now

I really feel for ordinary Americans. It's bad enough on this side of the Channel, hearing daily about Trump's latest petty, spiteful, idiotic bullshit - that rant against the Bishop who asked him to have mercy on immigrants, the ridiculous and insulting attempt to blame 'diversity' for the plane crash - but living under it must be so much worse. And heaven help you if you're LGBT or a woman. Or an immigrant. Or not white. Or poor. Or anyone else Trump and his freakshow of a government despises. I moan about the UK all the time, like everyone else who lives here, because god knows it's far from perfect, but at least we don't have a government in charge who is trying to strip huge swathes of the population of their rights and citizenship.

I support Trump on all the things I support him on, I decide on the qualities of the policy, not the person.

It's simple males in the mens, females in the ladies

get it?

Just grab em by the pussy. Get it?

So an 8 year old has had testing for DSD? You are VERY naïve - or just outright making that fact up. Many don't find out until later teens when they has passed the age for periods to start. Can you imagine how utterly horrible it would be for them to no longer be able to go in the toilets with their friends like they have always done? To no longer be able to use changing rooms?

If you support Trump over this one issue, you very very clearly don't care about all women.

Yes I care about all women as well - thats why I don't want men in the toilets of women.

Everyone with a DSD has genetic testing. They all know.

Also most PEOPLE in the west get sequenced nowadays it's not hard or expensive

So, every single person should go through genetic / chromosomal testing as a baby then?

Anyway. This thread is yet another chance for this discussion. My closest friends, who are women in the US are losing their livelihoods and access to medical care. I care about them a lot more.

Yes. Because they are MALE. How hard is it to understand?

Men in the mens

Ladies in the ladies

So someone who has used female bathrooms ALL their life should now stop using them? Because they have a dodgy chromosome?

you mean he, not she. He.

And as for "live as a man" what on earth does that mean? Drink lager and watch football?

He, should certainly not be in sports teams for she's, should he? Nor female bathrooms for that matter, otherwise wear a dress, pop on make up and do all this "Living as a woman" things you feel he should be...

Oh, it's about one specific person. Not about all people with a DSD.

And yes, I am sure you don't care about my friend. That is par for the course.

What about the girl who, in late teens, finds out she has a DSD? Do you force her to now live as a man? Do you let her continue to live as a woman but she's no longer allowed to use womens changing rooms?

I can guarantee you, in the VAST majority of cases, you wouldn't be able to tell.

I don't care about your anecdote.

People with DSDs know they have one, just asking for them to be honest before they get in a boxing ring....

Oh and while I am here

Sex is binary and immutable

Trans women are men.

OK sweetie.

I have no idea if I have ever met anyone with DSD. Do you ask people to find out?

Or do you mean "all trans women"? That you can just tell? It's attitudes like that that caused a close friend a lot of pain and trouble after a couple of high profile anti trans c*nts on twitter decided she was actually a man (as she had given birth three times, I think it's very unlikely) and basically doxed her to their hundreds of thousands of followers.

Lets be fair, it's obvious 99% of the time

Intersex people, properly called DSD, are always male or female. I can’t say it clearer.

So at what point should everyone be chromosome tested?

justteanbiscuits · 06/02/2025 14:04

One of the friends, who doesn't work directly for government but in an adjacent role, has lost her job. They have been ordered to work full time in the office after presidential decree that it must happen. Sadly she is disabled and lives 3 hours from their office. She has been there 18 months after they head hunted her. Her contract is remote working, but apparently this is over ruled by the President.

towelsandsheets · 06/02/2025 13:54

Well yes civilian blood spilt by the Israelis will help Muslim terrorists every where

I still doubt they wanted that many to die and I am sick to the back teeth of people trying to excuse Israel

Hamas soldiers were not the ones killing the Palestinian civilians

I used to be fairly neutral on all this but increasingly see the Palestinians as the victims- of Israel whose actions over the decades have bred Hamas

MissConductUS · 06/02/2025 13:48

towelsandsheets · 06/02/2025 13:25

You think Hamas wanted so many dead? I think you are delusional .

I think they were indifferent to civilian deaths because using them as human shields was part of their strategy to deter Israeli attacks. They refused to let civilians shelter in the hundreds of miles of tunnels they controlled and told them to stay in their homes during the fighting.

Gaza Chief’s Brutal Calculation: Civilian Bloodshed Will Help Hamas - Yahya Sinwar’s correspondence with compatriots and mediators shows he is confident that Hamas can outlast Israel

The peace activists have been utterly marginalized since October 7.

You can hurl whatever hurty words towards Israel you like. You could make them a pariah state like North Korea.

It’s not gonna lead anywhere useful imho. Shaming only works on countries that share your civilizational values.

Yup Hamas got exactly what they wanted, 10,000s of thousands dead Palestinians and an angry, isolated, and even more dangerous Israel.

Still, worth it eh? They got to show those Jews, especially the women and children who really needed to pay. Of course, it was then Palestinian women and children who died in return but hey now the Queers are marching for Palestine and the UN is passing resolutions! So again, totally worth it.

Fuck me I hate humanity.

RingoJuice · 06/02/2025 05:00

Humdingerydoo · 05/02/2025 17:38

There's no need to start spreading lies just to try and make your weird point 🤦🏻‍♀️

Israel has accepted a two state solution many times, including at the time of Israel's creation.

If you need to lie to make a point, it's really not a point worth making.

Most of it’s not occupied. The worlds population would fit on the Isle of Wight if we all
stood up.

Most of habitable land is occupied. And this ignores the fact most Palestinians have no desire to leave their land. The ones who fled in 1948 learned the hard way that once they left they would never be allowed back.

JHound · 06/02/2025 00:47

MeTooOverHere · 05/02/2025 22:22

there's plenty of land in the world.
Yes and it's all owned and occupied and those owners will object if you just lob 2 million strangers there.

It’s like they don’t realise this kind of thinking is what caused the problem in the first place!

SernieBanders · 05/02/2025 12:19

Here, we went into this in depth today - https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/5267492-i-do-not-believe-in-gender-identity have a look at the DSD stuff.

I am not interested in discussing people's beliefs. I am talking about actual biology. Have a look at the example I gave you.

2 horses. Apparently female, who both raced as females (ie adult females) and only when tested did enough male hormone turn up to question that sex. Upon internal physical exam, it was found both were genuinely intersex and upon karyotyping were found to both be XY (male).

If they were human what would you say? Should they both have surgery to remove the female parts to appear male as per their karyotype? Or should they have surgery to remove the male parts to comply with their birth designation?

MeTooOverHere · 05/02/2025 22:41

SernieBanders · 05/02/2025 22:33

Have you not heard of ecological footprint? It's not just a place to stand. It's the area of land needed to provide food, waste disposal, etc.

Much of what you think is 'not occupied' will not support human life eg much of Australia is desert. You want to just dump 2 million people in our desert?
