Aibu to ask if you have a famous DH

Does it bother you? I have a semi famous DH, he gets paid to gig and go on podcasts etc if we go out locally he does get asked for selfies so we tend to go away for weekends as a family.

I do find it slightly annoying but I guess it pays the bills 💃

I can't cope! Woke the kids up laughing! What I was thinking though reading the title again...semi-famous bit. My husband had a famous semi most of the last year, neither use or ornament really despite the viagra!

My husband is not famous, just a driving instructor. He is the 3rd best driving instructor in Wales (he doesn't tell anyone but I do!) 🤣 I'm so proud 🥲 he is always being beeped at, and regularly stopped by past students, parents of students etc.

He was approached by bbc radio Wales to do a piece on driving tests last Tuesday, but we were on holiday in Cornwall and didn't have any signal 🤦😂

A picture I drew in primary school was shown on a local TV show, my brothers friends parents rang to say well done..that was the height of it. I imagine everyone else who saw it was far too jealous to say anything to me.., I tell my children time to time of it and they quite rightly are amazed and very proud of me (aged 3 and 4).

My DH won £1,000 in a radio competition a couple of years ago. We had our picture posted on their FB page. We've tried not to let the money change us, buying just the one helicopter.

My husband was on Wide Awake Club in the 80's. He won a pillow case full of prizes. It does bother me as I am still jealous.

Over 35 years ago I met a guy at work. He had an ordinary, lowest grade admin job as he was starting out in this country. Talking to him one day (he was very educated with degrees from Nigeria and though he had an accent his English was cleary and that of an educated person)) he said, "did you know that I'm the 96th most well known person in Nigeria."? I looked at him and thought, WTH, '96th.... and also thought, WTH if he said he was the 2nd or 3rd I could understand that. All I said is 'ok' and its always stuck in my mind

He left soon after to run his own "business" he was a nice, polite and political man.

We are not famous and my OH was well known when they was in the papers years ago, local papers but that is about it

My DH is famous amongst the elderly w. here we live. He spends ages talking to the old blokes.

Now yout DH sound pretty special being so famous. Is he the guy that does the school disco?

If it makes you feel any better OP I know people who know Fabio and grooverider (proper south London DJs). They’re completely normal. Locally to me live members of Soul to Soul, seen them in bars and chatted to them and you’d only know because they still have the high locs/dreads hairstyles. Very chilled guys.

I don't want to be too outing, so let's just say... my name is Mrs Pickering and my DH shares the same name as both men in a top comedy double act from a few decades back.

He was already a celebrity in our town, but since then he's become a top YouTube star and everyday life is just horrendous, with all the fans. For some bizarre reason that I've never been able to fathom, they always seem to do owl impressions and shout "Whoooo" whenever they see him. Maybe they're taunting him because, owing to his immense fame, he can now only come out at night?

No, I don’t think I’d like to be married to someone famous (I’m not married at all in fact)

My aunt is sort of famous. I think if someone close to you is famous, or at least well known, you don’t see them as famous but just as themselves.

My aunt was famous in 70s/80s as a model. But not like Jerry Jagger or anything. She was best mates with Robert Palmer (got photo of them) at 15 though and on tv in adverts a lot. I’ve got a Sunday paper magazine where she’s in a photo shoot with another model and Freddie Mercury. I don’t know which adverts but my stepmum said she’d seen her on tv, this was in 80s. But her DH was nasty and 15 years older than her and she now lives in Paris as it’s away from him but she was under police protection when they divorced. I wouldn’t say she’s famous though.

Horrendous varied from hate on social media through to rubbish being dumped in our garden, threats of violence, having to carry attack alarms, emergency plans with school for the children's safety. Having to install CCTV on the house and twice being told by special branch to leave our home for days for safety

This is awful. There was an article in the paper recently about MPs not wanting to do the job any more due to death threats and harassment of their families. I dont blame them.
