I love how these threads bring out the thick woolly jumper-wearing posters.😂☃

Just a sweatshirt so far 😁
Much prefer layers/blankets than central heating though, I'd never put it on at all if I lived alone I don't think!

I’ve not cracked yet , feet were a bit cold in bed last night so tonight I’m planning to put heating on for when I get out shower , make sure all radiators warm up good and then some socks when I get into bed
Have closed most of the windows today and only vents open for now .. left bathrooms and kitchen on latch

orthrywreeinvicedifthe · 18/10/2026 18:13

Mine never gets turned off. It’s left on 17 year round.

Forton26 · 18/10/2026 18:12

On for the first time a couple of days ago. But i just an hour or so to warm the house through. North west. Not particularly cold until overnight atm. Had two lovely sunny days which warmed the back of the house lovely.

Should add we have a smart thermostat and have it set for certain temps etc once the cold kicks in daily.

MCF86 · 18/10/2026 18:11

I only started wearing a jumper at home this week!

Only to test it was working. I’m in NW near the Lakes. House was 18 degrees when I got up the sun has warmed it 22 ❤️

GreenEyesMillennial · 18/10/2026 18:06

Me! For about 2 weeks on and off, mostly evenings but today pretty much all afternoon as well. Cats are very happy 🤣

Helga55 · 18/10/2026 18:04

central heating is not on yet, but starting to put the log burner on in the afternoon to warm the house for the evening. When it’s too cold to get out of bed in the morning, it’ll go on 😬 in the SE

Gingerkittykat · 18/10/2026 18:03

Yes, it's currently 7 degrees outside (I'm wrapped in a banket but about to get up and put it on) and it's got down to 0 overnight last night.

SpaceAngel1999 · 18/10/2026 18:01

Me for the last few days

Blanketyblank04 · 18/10/2026 18:01

Gave it a 40 minute blast at 7am this morning! Brrrr

Newmeagain · 18/10/2026 18:01

Yes. It’s been a long summer but it has suddenly become cold.

Shoobadadoo · 18/10/2026 18:00

Today I did first hour boost. Not on auto yet

AuroraBloom · 18/10/2026 18:00

Yes it's been on. I go by how cold the house is,not the date.

blankcanvas3 · 18/10/2026 17:59

Thermostat comes on if it goes below 21degrees in babies room which it has done on and off for a couple of weeks now

Ooodelally · 18/10/2026 17:59

Yes, but only because I have an elderly dog and I was worried about her getting chilled. If it was just us humans it would have been out in another layer and get on with it!

Carjuke · 18/10/2026 17:58

Heating definitely on here . Am on sofa with a dog and fleece blanket plus heating. Couldn’t give a toss what the date is TBH !

EasternStandard · 18/10/2026 17:56

Yes it’s on

MigGirl · 18/10/2026 17:55

Ours never gets turned off, just leave it upto the thermostat. It's come on a couple of times this week for the first time. Mainly in the evenings as its gotten a bit cooler overnight now.

Purplecatshopaholic · 18/10/2026 17:54

Yup. No fucks given, if I need it on, on it goes!

Fuschiagreen · 18/10/2026 17:54

Yes - comes on via thermostat so been on and off for a couple of weeks

gingercat02 · 18/10/2026 17:54

Ours is on a hive thermostat. It goes off properly in the summer but its on again now. Comes on at 19°C, its only 9°C outside here.

DinoLil · 18/10/2026 17:53

Not yet. In the SE and it's apparently 13 degrees atm. Windows and doors still open. Not wearing a coat to go out yet.

But I am of a certain age...!

Silverbirchleaf · 18/10/2026 17:52

since yesterday due to temperature drop.
