Just saw my typo in earlier post ... strong not string! 🙄

Agree that Greenland needs to be the ones who have the final say, but the US's unquestioned entitlement and avarice is sickening.

I took it to refer to a drill string!😂

It's really up to the Greenlanders.

I agree. But they are still mad if they think letting the US take control is a good idea.

If they do then they are mad. Who wants to be taken over by Trump?
The idea of the USA drilling in Greenland makes my blood boil.

The US drilling will be the thin end of the wedge. I hope it is blocked but I know that many locals will see it as their opportunity/payday away from Danish gov't control.

Ahhhhh, a well needed laugh. Thank you!

My story makes more sense than most of what Trump and his crew come out with.

The tone of that article indicated that the drilling will go ahead. Surely the Denmark gov't must have been aware of these activities and advising the Greenland authorities but Greenland has its own Benedict Arnolds.

They also have that guy wearing a MAGA hat sitting on a bollard in a Greenland harbour, still waiting for the hospital ship.

Unless a polar bear ate him. That might explain why we never heard any more about the hospital ship.

Hang on... checking internet... and wow... just wow.

The day a polar bear tried to eat the rudder of USS Connecticut fast attack Seawolf class nuclear submarine - The Aviation Geek Club

Polar bears have form for eating US navy ships. That's what happened to the floating hospital. No wonder they kept that quiet. But there it is. Join the dots and it is obvious. Once seen, it can't be unseen.

And now it makes sense why Trump started a war with Iran and not Greenland/Denmark. Because the US "kamikaze dolphins" would stand no chance against the Greenlandic/Danish chomping polar bears. And the seals would be useless too.

In fact, so what happened is that Trump sent the Hospital ship loaded with dolphins and seals to invade and take Greenland, and the bears ate them all.

And look, zoom into that bear photo, and it is wearing a Danish Navy cap.

Can't open, but no need. There is more. Maybe a cCrap website below, but good enough when it comes to Trump.

Trump-linked figures set to profit from Greenland’s minerals | Global Witness

Critical Metals Corp is leading the charge of Trump-linked companies positioning to cash in on the administration’s renewed fixation on Greenland.
In October 2025, Critical Metals Corp became the majority stakeholder in Tanbreez Mining Greenland, a company that owns one of the world’s largest rare earths deposits, amid reports that the US government was considering investing in the company.

And

During Trump’s first term, Barnes – already the Tanbreez license owner – reportedly pitched the importance of Greenland’s minerals supply to the White House.
Then, in June 2025, Critical Metals Corp received a letter of interest from the US EXIM bank for $120 million to develop the site, in what would be the US government’s first overseas mining investment.

When it comes to conspiracies and Trump, the gloves are off. He is one of the lead conspiracy peddlers after all. So by my logic, all sites can be used.

An expanding network of individuals and companies with ties to the US administration looks to profit from the renewed interest in Greenland’s mineral deposits

@Justsaynonow

Good morning from one of the nasties, who's currently suffering from poor air quality from US forest fire smoke. Not that we don't have enough of our own fires, and I am in awe of the bravery & skill of firefighters from both sides of the border, but he just threatened us again recently because of the impact of our fires on the US.

Yeah well you know, USA smoke is much biglyer and more powerful than your Canadian smoke. You're lucky we aren't charging you for it. And BTW your smoke is crossing our border illegally! We're going to have to send ICE to stop it. Oh, and we're going to put a tariff on your smoke too!
<takes tongue out of cheek>

Yes, God bless the firefighters and the also the 'behind the scenes' crews that support them.

Thanks. You're right, yours is biglier 😂 We come here every year and basically can't leave the motel room without a mask since I arrived yesterday. The air quality is ranging from very unhealthy to hazardous. It is awful. There's ash falling. Puts a full stop to sitting/swimming at the beach but we're making the best of it with marathon thrifting & daylong canning, haha.

Don't be silly Rep, you're whistling in the dark; way too much sense for this WH Regime.
Or the alternative reason being that Trump enjoys making the taxpayer pay for jollies meetings at his properties. Money to him is more important than effective and cheaper national security options.

Oh yes - silly me. I promise not to whistle in the dark around Trump. It may summon bats, for whom the latest trained mustelid atop his head would be a tasty prize.

If "National Security" is such an essential when hosting in relation to the big-balls-up-room, why does so much of the current hosting go on at his golf courses? Any caddy with an agenda could conceal a sabre alongside the nine-irons, surely?

The birthright citizenship is all a front for the real issue, which is that what the president says is law. And was always meant to be. And that rather than preventing that, the entire raison d'etre of the constitution is to support that theory.

It's not Trumps fault that everyone these past 250 hasn't understood that.

I don't understand what you mean sorry, so I am in your "everyone" group.

I thought the issue with Trump is that he is demonstrating that the famed checks and balances are not enough. Because they were not expecting a wannabe King as dishonest and corrupt as him.

SerendipityJane · Yesterday 15:59

RedTagAlan · Yesterday 15:51

It all confuses me. If he want's to end birthright citizenship it should be easy. Just change the constitution. Amend the amendment.

They managed an amendment in 1992. Ah wait, that took 200 years to do apparently. James Maddison introduced it in 1789.

Longer than 2 weeks then.
