It’s very worth a read. Pennies dropping all over the place.

So frustrating that I can’t link from my phone but check out @STILLTish twitter feed. It’s the pinned tweet at the top.

If other people are starting to make the connection that's a good sign.

This one?

Mumfun · 10/06/2019 22:56

Disturbing. And so much money!

TheBullshitGoesOn · 10/06/2019 23:08

That thread joins a lot of dots.

So the Paul Hamlyn Foundation funds Mermaids, Gendered Intelligence, and other related organisations.

Tony Hall, Director-general of the BBC is one of the trustees.

LangCleg · 10/06/2019 23:10

Tish has gone full FWR CSI!

Great thread.

ThePurportedDoctoress · 10/06/2019 23:13

Great work. MAP's (!) bookshelf looks interesting. This org works with 11-year-olds?

Excellent piece of investigation. Women have never had this level of access to promote our interests or benefactors who want to help us change society in order to make our lives easier.

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 11/06/2019 00:12

No kidding, we can't even get the Tampton Tax spent of women focused charities, let alone all of this fuckery!

Oldstyle · 11/06/2019 00:30

Blimey that's some quality sleuthing. We are certainly up against it aren't we. Stunning really how much noise we are managing to make and how much of an irritant we are managing to be in the face of this interlinked power, money & influence. Cheering and not cheering at the same time really.

NotBadConsidering · 11/06/2019 01:14

Brilliant thread. I hope someone archives or unrolls it, would trust Twitter at the moment.

HumberElla · 11/06/2019 01:43

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has links everywhere. Very connected to the liberal arts, a history of supporting progressive social change and now putting millions into youth action and social change led by children.

Tony Hall, trustee, has a long history at the BBC (28yrs) and was director general at Ch4.

Another trustee Anthony Salz is also Trustee of the Scott Trust (owner of the Guardian). Previous roles include Vice Chair of the BBC Board of Governors, a member of the Board of the Department for Education

These are men with governance positions also in some huge corporations, banking, finance, big businesses etc.

They are also have a tangential interest in various aspects of social reform. One other trustee started a social innovation camp for digital activists to engineer web based solutions for social change.

Very interesting. Tentacles extending everywhere.

Just bumping for the morning crowd.

This could explain why I've just watched Munroe B lying about the NSPCC debacle on BBC Breakfast. Just them, able to say what they want, no spokesperson for NSPCC or JT or anyone.

RedToothBrush · 11/06/2019 08:34

Why am I so unsurprised by this shit?

TheBullshitGoesOn · 11/06/2019 18:50

Another link between the BBC and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation here:

HumberElla · 11/06/2019 18:58

Interesting.

“All About Trans is a project that encourages better understanding between transgender people and the media. Delivered by not-for-profit organisation, On Road, the project has been supported by the BBC, the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Channel 4 and works to inspire accurate and sensitive representation of the trans community in the UK.”

Which is all great. But where does sensitive representation tip over into ‘green light go at all times on every subject no questions asked?’

TheBullshitGoesOn · 11/06/2019 19:24

Paul Hamlyn Foundation also funded this from the Children's Rights Alliance for England (CRAE)

TheBullshitGoesOn · 11/06/2019 19:34

Another interaction between the BBC and All About Trans
www.allabouttrans.org.uk/interaction-with-ben-stephenson-bbc-controller-of-drama/

It is perfectly reasonable that they should seek to be fairly represented in shows. But the level of networking and influence is impressive.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 11/06/2019 21:02

Shit that's shocking. I know I should be so bloody surprised, but if you said this stuff out loud without evidence, you'd look totally paranoid.

Yet the dots keep joining up.

The tinkling sound you hear is the shower of pennies dropping.

BlackeyedGruesome · 12/06/2019 07:42

I would archive that thread as it is likely to disappear if twitter follows its normal pattern.

HumberElla · 12/06/2019 10:47

Someone on another thread has just pointed out that CBeebies are showing a film about how one families dad has become Charlotte. It’s on their FB page.
Looking at this, it does make me worry again about where sensitive coverage of difference, crosses over into deliberate normalisation of AGP and cross dressing for toddlers and primary age children.

LizzieSiddal · 12/06/2019 11:11

Well there’s absolutely no doubt now is there?

The next question is what the hell can any of us do about it?
