Ok, possibly quite a bit lighter than others but 2 women I find inspiring are Michelle Obama and Carole Middleton. Both hardworking women, and as someone who tends to be lazy or struggle to get motivated, hard work is something I very much admire in others.

Yes! Anne Diamond! She’s my current ‘Oh gawd, Judas, do stop banging on about it’ subject until such time as she gets an honour.
And I’ll add Amy Johnson

Magdalen Berns
Queen Elizabeth both 1 and 2.

QE2 because she's been an astonishingly good queen. I know plenty of people hate the monarchy but I much prefer it to the presidents other nations have. If we had presidents then Thatcher would have been one for fucking ever. So I'm grateful to the Queen. Her sense of duty impresses me.

As for QE1, after previous monarchs had had people burnt alive over religion, QE1 said, pragmatically, that she would not seek to make windows into men's souls, i.e as long as people kept their faith to themselves it was their business. As a strong woman of her time she was massively impressive. She played her courtiers brilliantly, avoiding the royal marriage that would have cost her autonomy for decades. She kept us out of wars and oversaw a period of great writers, poets, exploration and art.
