I've generally give up reading the Guardian but thanks for sharing that.

It reminds me I've got a copy of Americanah which has been on my 'to read' list for far too long. I ought to turn to that next as soon as I have finished what I am currently reading (The Female Eunuch and an Ali Smith book).

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 28/04/2018 20:25

God I love her. ❤💖💗💞

lightthedarkness · 28/04/2018 20:28

Brilliant woman and a good read.

I found the backlash against Chimanda Ngozi Adichie unfathomable.
I have really admired her novels and was very heartened to read this article today,

cheminotte · 28/04/2018 20:41

Thanks for highlighting this.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 28/04/2018 20:51

Great article! My partner bought her book and I'm waiting for him to finish it so I can read it. I might ask him to hurry up!

BingBongSong · 28/04/2018 21:29

Thanks! I think she's great.

Waddlelikeapenguin · 28/04/2018 23:04

Ally Americanah is an amazing book. I've read it twice and always feel a loss when it ends. You have so much to look forward to.

I 💚💜💚💜💚 Chinamanda. someone I know met her last week!!!

Her recent FB post about HRC (among others things) was fab.

Amazing woman. Amazing intellect and insight into humanity.

I give copies of "why we should all be feminists" to everyone.

MistressJigsaw · 28/04/2018 23:18

read Americanah, loved it which one shall i read next?

TheClitterati · 28/04/2018 23:23

All of them Grin

I've not read Purple hibiscus yet.

TheClitterati · 28/04/2018 23:26

When she talks about the loneliness of feminism. I feel that often. She so often beautifully articulates deep rooted feelings - it's like she knows me. A marvel at exploring the human psyche.

captainbizz · 28/04/2018 23:35

LOVE HER! Last year I binge read most all of her books... I'm a super fan!

BingBongSong · 29/04/2018 00:20

I've just bought 3 from The Book Depository Grin.

Purple Hibiscus was my summer reading last year. I really enjoyed it.

Destinysdaughter · 29/04/2018 01:17

QuentinSummers · 29/04/2018 08:34

Thanks red. She is amazing.

qumquat · 29/04/2018 08:36

Love her! Half of a Yellow Sun is an amazing book.

quencher · 29/04/2018 16:16

She always talks sense. Love her.

SweetheartNeckline · 29/04/2018 20:56

What a great interview. I agree with her about the whole "thought it was obvious that trans women and women do not have the same experieces." That continues to be the thing that baffles me most about the current debate. Trans women are just so obviously not the same as women. That's just a lie. Trans women are not inherently better, or worse, but they're not the same either.

AnyFucker · 29/04/2018 20:58

Fabulous woman. Fabulous novelist.

Popchyk · 29/04/2018 21:06

I really liked Half of a Yellow Sun.

Will definitely try to read a couple more.

Does anyone else think that one of the poignant things about getting older is realising that you won't be able to read all the books that you want to before you die? I had this thought today.

That is my morbid thought for the night.

AnyFucker · 29/04/2018 21:07

Erk

Popchyk · 29/04/2018 21:10

Okay, just me then. Smile
