Is this dress ok for an older bride?

ie: late 40s? Is it too much - too slinky, shoulders too big etc? Is it too low at the front?

I'm half madly in love with it and half worried it looks a bit daft on me. I don't want a traditional wedding dress but I don't know if this is a step too far. It's a non-church city wedding so no stomping through fields or anything Grin

The back is also low but I can't get a pic of it - I think it looks ok.

I am planning to lose about 10lbs or so and will get it adjusted if necessary.

I've not sorted underwear yet so excuse the slightly droopy top half. I've have another picture that shows the top straight on but it's a bit nips-ahoy so I'm not sure I want to post it!

Its lovely and classy. Perhaps a boosting bra to give slight cleavage.

Lose 10lbs from where? You have a lovely figure

I don’t like it, but I’m not wearing it, you need to feel happy, that’s the main thing and congratulations. Don’t worry about what other think.

Love it, you look great. As pps said no need for weight loss

It looks fabulous to me (48 btw)! I'd love to rock something similar but the bias cut + my hips = never. Enjoy your day.

Really lovely dress that doesn't look at all daft on you!
The right underwear will sort out any issues you (may think you) have and give you the confidence to wear it beautifully.

Thank you - my tummy sticks out a bit a lot in the side view so I do still want to knock off a few pounds and hopefully flatten it a bit.

I'm worried the shoulders are a bit Alexis Carrington (although that's also why I love them!)

It looks beautiful, old school hollywood type glamour. Definitely not too old to wear it.

It’s a lovely classy dress. You really don’t look as if you need to lose weight and 10lbs might result in a gaunt look. Good foundation underwear will make all the difference to the finished look. Beautiful.

You look stunning, like a 1920s movie star, I can imagine a waves hairstyle and a jewelled/feathered clip. Gorgeous!

No, not Ghost MyGast although I did look at a couple of theirs as I like a simple, clean line.

It really does feel utterly beautiful on, but never in a billion years did I think I'd be getting married in a long pink dress!

You've all made me feel much more confident about it, so thank you. It's a keeper I think!

I've got a silver-grey crop atm but will probably grow it out a bit for something a wee bit softer on the day.

No idea re: shoes - I hate heels but it definitely needs them. Something I won't wobble around in I guess Grin

The first thing I thought was Alexis Carrington but that's not a bad thingSmile

Gorgeous! Very glamorous & Hollywood vintage looking. Some simple kitten heels would look lovely with it too. Classy bride!

Also thought Alexis Carrington. Don't like the top, sorry.
