It's beginning to look fairly serious I think for parts of both the SW and the SE through from tonight into this weekend. Rivers are already flooding and some areas in the SW could see another 100mm or so of rain in total.

I think amber warnings will be created as we go through the event.

I'm in Worcs, and they aren't even bothering to put the flood signs and sandbags away this winter. The Severn peaked at Worcester this morning and will be back over tomorrow I think. Everywhere is completely waterlogged so any rain is straight in the rivers

It's grim. Soggy. Damp. Puddles road side have never dried. Over topping the kerb...we are at the top of a hill and still getting standing water.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/12/2019 23:29

It's grim isn't it.

Watching as due to go to Sussex for the weekend.
Should I take the 4WD I wonder.

Bloody hell.

The whole school is walking to town today. 1000 soggy kids. Let's hope their destination has plenty of mops and cleaners.

Doing a long drive today. M40 Warwick area is rather wet at the moment. Not flooded but a lot of surface spray making driving conditions challenging.

Will be heading up the M6 towards Lake District - so I anticipate more rain.

WreckTangled · 20/12/2019 13:33

I'm in Sussex. Pretty wet here, always one car who tries to get through the flood too! If you zoom in to the left you can see a cyclist trying to get onto the bridge!

Thanks for the link, gives the Rivers of Uck and Ouse bursting which run along Mums boundary.

Mentions the mill next to her as being vulnerable. Mum is fortunately up a little hill so will be ok.

School church visit was cancelled this morning due to heavy rain, pity but it was the right decision. Imagine 300 soggy pupils in a cold church for an hour 😫.

www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/uk-warnings#?date=2019-12-21 more heavy rain warnings for tomorrow/Sunday in the south.

Oh it's getting ridiculous now

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/12/2019 09:46

It is isn't it. Even when the met office are forecasting light showers, we are still getting heavy rain. It's a little reminiscent of December 2015.
Thankfully, after the weekend it looks to clear up some.

Split ideas on what will happen after Christmas. GFS brings in a lot of rain on Boxing day from the SW.
