Fringe regret. In fact - haircut regret

So I had a lob and fringe yesterday. Planned a big cut from my long hair - just past shoulders. Got home. "D" H grimaced and said "we'll do YOU like it? It's very 80s!" It was waved and I quite liked it. Didn't love it but my hair is crap anyway and doesn't sit right due to jug ears. Fine hair too. Like greasy string about 3 hours after washing.
I had side parting no fringe before and I hugely regret what I've done especially when getting the reactions I have from that bloody man. He's another thread today. And to think I've asked on another thread for birthday ideas. He can do one now!! Left photo is new cut. Other one (granted with very shiny post colour sheen and freshly cut and straightened) is last time. I want it back 😢. What can I do with it??

It looks shiny and healthy. Grow the fringe just a bit. And I can tell you have a lovely face!

There's only one photo, but it looks great to me Confused

Can only see one picture, the first one with the new fringe. I think it looks good and on a rather odd note even with your face squiggled out you have an uncanny resemblance to the actress Anna Maxwell Martin!

The fringe will grow out and in a few weeks it will be long enough to pin it back or sweep it to the side.

I can only see one pic (with a fringe) & it looks great, bouncy & shiny.

But if you don’t like it, it isn’t a short fringe & will grow out very quickly.

i always think thicker blunt fringes look better, especially if (like you said) it will get greasy quickly. although if you’re definitely planning to grow it straight out, there’s no point adding more thickness/definition to it!

I think it's lovely! Ignore your DH he sounds like mine - he pulls a face every time I wear something slightly fashionable or do my hair differently. It used to upset me but now I laugh at him and carry on regardless. Ask your friends for their verdict, bet they love it!

You've made me a bit tearful in relief that I don't need to scrape it back in a pony forever or wear a hat . I'll try the other pic - I'm naturally ginger but fading so the colour now is nearer my own. It was SO shiny but I guess I can colour again. I love the idea of a fringe but maybe it needs to be bigger. Go hard or go home type fringe? Thank you 🙏

I think it looks lovely. What do men know about fashions in women's hair? 80s my foot.

I think it looks great. I have similar fine hair but lots of it. It can sit really lank and have to wash at least every other day. Have recently treated myself to the Dyson Airwrap and it is fab. I get so much volume in it with just the brush and can do all sorts of curls and twirls with the curly things! But even better is that it seems to make my hair last longer and not need as much washing.

Hair looks lovely OP.
If you get a greasy fringe you know you can just wash that dont you?
Clip hair back from fringe, bend over sink and give it a little wash.
Dry as normal.

It looks lovely. It's your hair, why worry whether your DH likes it or not?

I think it looks much better now with the fringe and a bit of movement. Lovely.

I am so grateful. Thank you. I may ask for a Dyson thing for birthday by asking for vouchers from everyone! God knows I need the volume

It's really nice. The fringe suits you.

It looks so good!! Much more natural. If you don't get on with the fringe there's loads of styling advice about as so many people gave themselves a lockdown fringe.

It looks lovely OP! I wasn’t sure about my new fringe either (fine/greasy hair too) so grew it and wear it clipped back in a little quiff, which I quite like now as it gives a bit of volume! Maybe try that? But honestly, it looks absolutely fine!

The new hairstyle is a big improvement imho.

It suits your face shape better and has more - well frankly style about it.

Your DH is talking shite...

I think your husband is a twat. What man thinks it's helpful to say such a thing? 'Well if you like it' - means, I don't. But how is that helpful? A fringe cut can't be replaced. 3 inches cut off can't be stuck back on.

I think your hair looks extremely shiny and healthy in the second. Healthy in the fringe one.

Your new cut looks great! Lots of bounce and volume! You could try a textursing spray? I'm not a fan if dead straight hair (on myself). You can curl it, try beachy waves? I like the style in the photo! You will get used to the fringe, if you really don't like it it won't take long to grow out.

Men say the most stupidest things!
