Least painful type of high heels?

Saz432 · 09/05/2019 18:53

Argh help me. I have to wear high heels for the first time in nearly three years (okay, fine, I probably haven’t worn heel reguarly for a decade).

What style is least painful? Going out in London so there will be walking and tubing involvement, if I could just get in a cab it would be fine.

Sorry, posted too soon - what will help me not be in agony / break an ankle?

Kitten heels, definitely.

Or a block heel? Definitely nothing high and spindly.

Kitten heels, definitely.

🤮🤮🤮🤮 please do not wear kitten heels they’re vile.

What are you wearing?

I like a barely there sandal as find these very comfortable but with heels it’s all relative.

Actually yes a block heel could work.

Look up Pleaser heels.
It’s what strippers wear so they can dance for hours. Some of them could work for everyday, most are a little, um, showy.

Block heel! I got some from head over heels which are almost comfortable.. for a heel!

Block heel ankle boot/short cowboy boot/shoe boot. Pick something where the heel is properly under your heel and not lurking round the end of the shoe where that'll throw your foot onto your toes too much - however elegant it might look from the sides.

The lowest ‘high’ heel you can find and with some sort of strap (preferably ankle).

Expensive ones. I am bad with heels but i can suffer with longer with good quality ones than cheapo ones.

Something with support at the front, I find.

What’s the occasion and rest of the outfit? This style would be comfortable.

I am contemplating buying one of those. They look ok for what you're looking for.

Can you not have a pair of 'walking' shoes, with your heels in a bag?

I've found blisters are an inevitability walking in heels in London, no matter the brand.

Special occasion at a super swanky restaurant. I’ve just ordered a simple but slightly edgy black midi wrap dress. I am short (5’2”) so I’m going to have to wear heels. Boooo.

I’m trying to keep it simple - will add some nice earrings and red lipstick and hope I’m not too much of a state 😂

Pleasers or Red or Dead are comfy

Those could work NC4 - I’ve never had shoes like that before, but they’d look great with the dress.

@NC4Now

Oh I like them, could you link, or let me know where they are from.

The most comfortable heels are imaginary. You did not have to wear them because you are short.

WhatOnPlanetEarth · 09/05/2019 19:24

Pleasers all the way then.

I second Pleaser shoes. Easy to wear for a long time, even if you're not a frequent heel wearer.

I’d never heard of pleaser shoes and googled them - whoa!

I find any shoes that hold the foot are good - so boots are great or shoes with laces or buckles.

Here you go @Drogosnextwife.

I’ve never shopped there so can’t vouch for quality- just googled ‘caged shoe boot’ or similar.

I’d break my neck in those Pleasers, not to mention I’d be about 6ft 4ins!

Do people really wear them for a night out?
