Morning all!

Firstly, I actually already have the Phillips IPL which was really expensive, but I worked out that it would worked out much cheaper than going and having IPL treatments at a clinic. I was at first really impressed by the results, but after time I found that it was far too time consuming and just stopped using it.

I heard about the NoNo years ago actually, but heard that it wasn't that effective at the time. The most hair reduction you'd see was something like 60%, which didn't seem that great if that was the absolute maximum. So, i'm not sure if their technology has stepped up a gear because they seem to becoming increasingly popular.

I originally bought the IPL cos I suffered really badly from shaving rash which was painful and unsightly, to put it mildly. However, in the last year or so i've noticed an increase in facial hair. Mainly the sides of my face and even my neck!!Blush With the IPL, you can't use it on your face atall so it's not really any use to me anymore.

The NoNo apparently worked really well on your face and this would be an absolute god send!! It's making me more and more paranoid. I don't like to stand too close to someone incase they're inspecting the sides of my face.

So has anyone tried the NoNo? Good experience? Bad experience?

I know that usually with IPL technology it works only on dark and rather course hair and doesn't really work on fair fine hair. The problem is, the hair on the side of my face is dark, but it's not course. Now obviously in one sense that's not a problem atall, but for this sort of product, i'm wondering if it would work for me.

Thanks for reading and sorry for wafflingConfused

Just read some of those very disappointing Amazon reviews. Not only does it sound ineffective, it sounds bloody dangerous too!!

I'm seriously desperate!! I don't even care about the painful shaving rash on my legs anymore. My ever increasing furry faceBlush is really getting me down.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is...

I have one! I bought it having read all the bad reviews. I have some facial hair Blush and was keen to try anything.
Right - so it works on light fuzzy hair (you now - the pale blonde fluff) but is useless with stubborn, darker hair.
It is not dangerous at all. It smells unpleasant when you use it as it burns the hair away.
Is it worth the money? I would say no. I bought mine direct from No No, half intending to return it within the 2 months. But I decided to hang onto it as it does nicely get rid of the blonde bumfluff. It also worked on my arm and the hair took ages to return. I still need to get round to doing the other arm. I tried it on hubby's back and it didn't work at all on his darker hairs.
Hope this helps!

If I was you I'd use the IPL on your face. I have one too and can't think of any reason not to, unless you have terribly sensitive skin. The skin there isn't much different from any other areas so I'm sure Phillips are just covering their arses by telling you not to use it on your face. Perhaps invest in a decent pair of the UV glasses to protect your eyes from the flash though.

Apparently the newer models are quite good - allthingsyouneedtoknow.com/does-nono-hair-removal-work-update-2019/

Nono just burns off the hair. It doesn't reduce growth rates at all. I used to work in the industry and apparently over half are returned for a refund, which tells you how good people think they are.

You can absolutely use ipl including Lumea on the face, what made you think you can't?

Oh and hair doesn't need to be coarse for ipl to work, it just needs to be darker than the skin colour.

It is literally just a hot wire that burns hair close to your skin. I bought one (stupidly) and it’s not even as good as a bic razor. I used it religiously as instructed and it just gave me burnt smelling really bad stubble. Do not recommend.

I have used the no no and I found it brilliant.
Bit of a smell with burning of the hair but works really well

The Wilkinson dermaplane blades are good for face and eyebrows just be careful with them that you do downward motion as they can nick you.
