Best app for managing a sports team

DS plays sport for a local club. The coaches have asked for parent help organising things. I'd like to implement a better system to let people know when training is, when events are and to enable sign up to events (at the moment there's a notice board, random piece of paper to sign up for things and the hope that the coach has your mobile number for texts!) Parents would need access as well as age range is 8-17
Don't need anything too complex like payments but the ability to message would be appreciated.
There's a lot of tools out there- does anyone use one they'd recommend?

We just use WhatsApp...

WhatsApp wouldn't work. 4 age groups split by sex, 30-50 children, all of the events have different categories and training for different groups often in different places....

The DCs club use the Spond app.

Works really well, can set up section for each team, set up match details, confirm attendance at games, send messages and notifications, pay subs on it.....

I find Teamster more user-friendly than Pitcheroo.

I haven't come across Spond

Teamer.

Used it for football and, currently, rugby for DS.

Our club uses teamer. Think it's American but it works well, you get 'invited' to games or training and you accept or decline so the coaches know how many players they have etc. It also has a message board. When you get invites to a game it has a Google map of where it is too which is handy.

Oops - when I typed Teamster, I meant Teamer

Thank you. Looking at it now. Might be just the thing!

Teamer works well for most things.

However it's useful to have something like a What's App group to get quick, urgent communication out - for example when a match is cancelled.

Teamer. We still have WhatsApp for general chitchat and queries, but the official stuff is on Teamer.

We use Teamer for scheduling matches for football and rugby but Team App is better for non-team type sports I think. It's got better Chat and Comment functions.
