Jackson's Bakery have asked us to find out how Mumsnetters are using bread on a day to day basis.
Here's what Jackson's Bakery have to say: "Here at Jackson's we want to raise public awareness about local provenance and encourage consumers to regularly purchase locally sourced produce. What’s more we want to know how Mumsnetters use their bread day to day and broaden their culinary horizons. We have a collection of recipes on our website but we would love to hear your ideas too!"
What's your favourite way to include bread in your day? Do you start your day with some toast? Or maybe you like having sandwiches for lunch? What's your favourite type of bread? What about your DCs? Do you have to convince them to eat the crusts on their bread, or do they like the crusts?
Do you ever use bread in other recipes? Maybe you like making bread and butter pudding? Or do you use bread for pizza bases? Whatever you use bread in, Jackson's Bakery would love to hear about it.

I love cheese topped rolls and tiger bread, but with nothing but butter on. The kids love tiger cheese with butter. If its tiger they eat all of it but normsl sliced white they leave the crusts.
We make a type of stuffing that has large pieces of thick white bread in, its delicious. Doesnt work well with brown though.
I have a breadmaker and my favourite things that come out of it are the "speciality" breads.
Banana bread is wonderful - it makes lovely chewy toast.
Cinnamon and raisin bread - again, makes wonderful toast.
Cheese bread - fabulous warm with lots of butter. Or toasted!
Sadly I am intolerant to wheat to some degree and can't eat as much as I would like.
I love bread. Focaccia, white cob, ciabatta, crusty rolls, flatbreads, paratha, naan, pizza, garlic bread, malt loaf, sweet bread, iced fingers, fruit loaf, French stick, sourdough...I could go on.
I make a lot of bread, we buy a lot of bread, we eat a lot of bread.
But my absolute favourite bread-y thing? A sandwich made with toasted bread, and filled with grated cheese, mayo and salad. Bliss. Oh and maybe an old fashioned bread pudding too!
I have the river cottage bread book and have made loads of things from it over the last 2 years. Most successful have been bagels, pittas, blinis, & hot cross buns. I also make all my own bread and love experimenting with different blends of flour.
Yesterday whilst making pizza bases I made some fab pizza rolls, roll out pizza Dough into rectangle, top lightly as usual then roll up and chop into 3 cm rounds,. Squash down onto baking tray & leave to rise. Really really successful with the dc
I like bread but wouldn't say i do anything particularly adventurous with it. Just the usual toast, sandwiches, etc. I've often wondered about getting a bread maker but am never sure if oven is just as good and it would end up sat in a cupboard.
I love bread.
My favorite is cheese and tomato bread, or french baguette. I also love it as sides, garlic bread / nan / pitta for dipping etc.
I also LOVE cheese toasties - all the family does - they are a go-to last minute supper. Bread - buttered both sides, sliced cheese and finely chopped onion - sandwiched and toasted under the grill for a few minutes until crunchy. We eat them with beans!
A favorite snack in our house is fruit loaf / fruit bread with butter and strong cheddar cheese. yummy.
My son's favourite is baguette eaten while we are walking around he aisle at the grocery store; on days when he is being a fussy eater we can always get him to eat baguette.
My favourite weekend treat is a fried egg served on a buttered, toasted bagel with cheese.
I don't use bread as an ingredient in any recipes but we do eat a lot of bread.
Our family love bread. My favourites are sourdough, rye and soda bread.
We make our own from time to time. I don't think the ingredients are local but I'd be happier if they could be and if the price was reasonable.
I love a toasted sandwich if it's cold outside, bread dipped in soup or stale bread used to make croutons, stuffing or breadcrumbs for a dish. I never waste any.
My children would eat too much bread if I didn't stop them -crusts are never a problem.
DS has to have toast for breakfast, we treat ourselves to pain au chocolat at the weekend but DS always asks for his toast. He leaves all of his crusts except for the bread I bake at home but I don't like crusty bread so try to ensure we don't have too crusty a bread.
I love bread, but it is my number one enemy when it comes to weight gain. So, if I'm going to have something bready, it has to be really worth my while! None of this cheap supermarket sawdust, it has to be warm out of the oven and smothered in butter and stuffed with filling.
Just isn't worth the calories, otherwise!
I'm coeliac, so I haven't eaten real bread in 15 years. GF bread has come a long way in that time, but its never a real pleasure.
DS loves sourdough bread, and the poncey object can sniff out an artisan bread stall from a mile. No issues on crusts.
For pizza (ds and dh), I make HFWs magic dough, and ds's friends think that 'make your own pizza' from scratch is amazing.
it took me a while to start typing a reply, I got lost in a day dream of fresh bread, still warm from the oven, pulled apart, slathered with cold salty butter, and then eaten. as it was a day dream I didn't have to stop. so I'll be baking tomorrow, simple white rolls to have with soup for supper. any escapees from supper will be used as lunch box sandwiches the next day, and lunch for me and toddler. I also make bread for weekend breakfasts, either tea or fruit loaf, or very occasionally brioche. I want to try making Danish pastries, but finding the time for that is unlikely! I cook bread most weeks though, usually rolls, sometimes pitta bread, or loaves.
I eat far too much bread.
Bagels are my favourite - plain or cinnamon raisin. I like to make my own, but supermarket bakery ones are pretty tasty too. A meal doesn't feel complete without some kind of bread - naan with a curry, baguette, soup with a hunk of fresh rustic bread, homemade pizza etc. I like making my own pizza dough, but if I'm in a rush I like using naan breads for pizza bases.
DD1 (2.8) loves bread too - almost any kind will do. She likes seeds, but isn't too keen on cheesy bread (despite cheese sandwiches being one of her favourite snacks). She asks to chose a bread roll every time we're at the supermarket.
DH likes toast with eggs or a bacon sandwich for breakfast.
Fresh bread, with soup. Mmmm. Or with cheese. Or toasted.
I also use bread for stuffing, bread and butter pudding, and wraps for pizza. Tend to make my own pizza bases now though.
Crusts are variable. As toddlers the children tended to refuse them. The moment they forget they stay on bread, and a crust free option is soon forgotten.
I love warm soda bread with homemade rhubarb jam and real buter slathered on it. Mmmmmm
Or a slice of plain bread (I think better known in england as Scottish loaf?) with real butter again. Nothing else
If we buy a fresh loaf of say Tiger bread we have a fight over who gets the first crust -with butter of course. Sulks all round if someone pinches it without checking if its okay to have it.
I have been buying Jacksons seeded Bloomer from Waitrose although at £1,55 a loaf it is a little pricey for sliced bread. We love it.
I make a mean Tuna Melt w/ two slices of bread, spring onions, tuna roughly mashed with mayo salt and pepper and topped with slices of mature Cheddar. Place on toasted bread and flash under a grill until bubbly. Sandwich together, spread the top w/ butter and slice.
All left over bread gets converted into eggy bread, Bread and Butter Pudding or Croque Monsieurs. I make a cheat Croque by using Waitrose 5 cheese sauce w/ added Parmesan to top toasted sandwiches stuffed with ham and cheese. We also fry cubed left over bread in olive oil then toss it into salads with crumbled bacon or chicken pieces. Add Vinaigrette for cheats Panzanella.
You can also line deep muffin cups with lightly toasted bread, fill with crumbled grilled bacon and break an egg into them. Place in the oven until the egg is set. Yum.
Nothing beats hot toast although toasted cheese and peanut butter sandwiches are rated highly here!

There was a Jacksons on most streets in 'Ull (this was before the supermarkets cottoned on and started express stores) and they kept some fairly unsociable hours, which was perfect for us students. <fond memories>
Anyway, I digress.
I LOVE all bread products.
You won't catch me on a low carb thread, that's for sure.
For breakfast: English muffins with lashings of butter (proper stuff) or crumpets with lots of butter and delicious farm shop strawberry jam.
For lunch: my all time favourite and also pregnancy craving x 3 is a white crusty baton with butter (see a theme here?) and ham with a dash of black pepper. Delicious.
Unfortunately, my DC have inherited my love of all things carb and despite always saying they don't want anything you can bet as soon as the toast is done, they'll want a bit.
I bake my own bread and still get excited when pulling it out of the oven! I'm not very adventurous although I generally add handfuls of pumpkin and sunflower seeds to coarse ground wholemeal flour. Amazing toasted with melted cheese and date and walnut chutney. Great fibre too!
Total bread fiend. Favourite breakfast is cheese in a roll or fried egg sandwiches. Favourite bread is sourdough, also love pitta. The kids generally have pitta and sliced wholemeal.
I love bread. All of it. I love Scottish morning rolls more than any other, but they're hard to get hold of outside of Scotland - not crusty but not soft, fluffy and chewy inside.
