@Meepmoop I know, it's so difficult, sleep training is something no one is really keen on. I started it at 6 months because I was losing it.
We've had 2 better nights. One she slept 3 hours straight and another she woke up "only' 6 times. But we are back in sleepless hell.
I've found she sleeps better after a crying period... But it's so disturbing, specially overnight. I've been inconsistent and so it's not a sleep training. I'm doing the minimum to survive and in 2 weeks we are back from holidays and I will have to find the strength to do it.dreading it though Sad.
I'm with a headache and we are already in wake up one. I am so tired. Last night she woke up countless times :(

@MummyCuddlesSolveEverything I don't think men get how parenthood is 24/7... You are totally right in being upset. You also need a break! When do you get it? It seems we are the ones to always have to sacrifice our time, our sleep, our work... It's very unfair Angry

Both mine didn't start sleeping through the night until almost 2 old. So for 2 whole years I was getting up in the night. I'm a breastfeeder though so I think that was part of it. They were both waking up for the comfort rather than hunger.

Dc4 is 3 and a half and although he's not up all night he doesn't sleep through.
He wakes every night anytime between 10 and 5 and won't settle unless he sleeps with me.
My first 3 dc were fabulous sleepers but I appear to have a broken one....

My youngest is 3.5 and the only time she's slept "through" was at Disney where she was on the go from 7am to midnight every day! We're generally unsettled between 9-12 and awake between 1-4am for anything from 30mins upwards. Her day also starts at 5 😫😫 I am so over getting 4hrs sleep on a good night

I just wanted to moan really 😂 she like has ASD so not her fault but seriously child stay the fuck asleep!!

Well, our night ended up not being too bad! She never cried for long and if she self settles she does sleep for a longer stretch. So I guess the problem is me!! I really need to find the strength after the holidays to be firm and let her self settle, because we both sleep much better after that! She actually slept until 7h30 and is happily playing instead of being exhausted. I hate to see her tired right in the morning!
I have to be honest, I was depressed after reading your posts from bad sleepers for years! Sounds really bad! Poor you! FlowersCake
Now, travelling today only reaching destiny around 1am, fingers crossed!!

My son is almost 11 months and wakes several times a night then is up for the day at 5! Tried everything but just had to accept he isn’t a sleeper! Going back to work after maternity leave next month and don’t know how I will survive with no sleep!!

Im sure you've probably already tried it but a white noise machine has worked well for us. I leave it on constantly during naps/night time and lo now sleeps for longer stretches x x

Hello all.

We are doing (whispers and looks around suspiciously in case he can hear me from the bedroom...) not too badly at the moment. We've had a few nights where he has slept from 7ish to 4ish and then went into bed with his dad and slept until 6.

I still can't do the night times as every time I do, he wakes up every hour or more often and we still have no idea why. So his dad is sleeping on the spare bed in the nursery every night and poor me gets the double bed all to myself and peace until around 6 when he wakes for a feed.

Have been back at work 2 weeks and it has been fine, he goes to bed for his dad no bother with or without expressed milk (some days he won't touch it and other days he downs six ounces...) and I even managed to go out for the evening (to see Steps) while my OH was working until 8. My parents gave him tea, bathed him and put him to bed and he was really good for them.

Well in good news DS slept 7.5 hours however he woke up wide awake at 3 and we're still not back to sleep. I also decided to stay up longer so I've missed out on a lot of sleep

DS has a virus, Saturday night was dreadful so yesterday we drove him around for an hour in the morning and I sat and held him for 1.5 hour in the afternoon. I couldn't cope with an ill and overtired baby. Last night he slept from bedtime til 1, then 4.30 and up at 6. He's finally napping by himself in his cot now, fingers crossed!

He's asleep with his head hanging over the nursery chair. If I move slightly he wakes up screaming.

Tonight is the worst in a long time. It's been 2.5 hours now. I made a lovely curry which then got left on the hob because she still wasn't asleep and I had to swap over with Dh.

Kill me.

It's so frustrating isn't it @FrozenMargarita17 hope you've managed to get your DD down now.

DH came upstairs armed with an electric fan which has done the trick for a minute. I'm hoping the noise will make him sleep through.

Teeth? My 11mth old is struggling at the moment and I think it’s pain. How do you feel about sleep training? Good luck, sleep deprivation is so hard.

I really can't do controlled crying. I even broke a bit and tried tonight but after 2 minutes I was crying with her and couldn't do it. She did eventually go at about 10.

Absolutely horrendous. She's not normally this bad going down but after chicken pox and then a couple of late nights this weekend she's well and truly out of it. Plus it's 28 degrees in her room and she's hot.
