Hi All
I posted before looking to ski over New Year somewhere with other activities. I'm getting more baffled by the day and thats not so much of a priority now I'm getting desperate. I've spoken to a number of travel agents. I'm being told that even if there isn't snow that in some resorts there are snow cannons that make snow. Arinsal in Andorra is one that is being recommended to me. Its only 1500m altitude. I'm not sure. Has anyone any experience?

We are complete beginners and only looking for 5 nights so very restricted on what we can get. I'm nearly ready to book Norway but its going to be sooo cold. France is really expensive. Italy is proving hard to get accommodation although flights to Turin were ok price. I'm flying from Dublin or Belfast and happy to do a stopover if required.

I'd be delighted to hear anyone's advice. I'd like to book as the prices are only going up...

Thanks
SH

Now the flights to Grenoble have really come down in price so I'm back looking at France! Maybe Alpe d'Huez...

We're skiing in Italy at New Year. It's risky but we had phenomenal snow 2 years ago so fingers crossed. For accommodation you'd be better off looking on local tourist info websites.

Montgenevre is only an hour from Turin and is meant to have a really long season. We had a lovely time there one Easter.

I really wanted to go at new year but was advised against it because it would be colder than half term and less guarantee of snow.
Norway is fabulous though.

Wherever you book, make sure you get proper thermal undies and wear them. Makes all the difference in really cold weather, the kind that we hardly ever get in the UK.

I’d go to Finland. Skiing under sodium is crazy. Loved Ruka
