Me too.
Anyone else starting to panic?
Dd 1 seems tired, morose and is Netflixing today as school finished yesterday.I have two revising kids this holiday and the other two are going overseas with dh to see his elderly Mum.

dd is on an 'Applicants Day' today. No idea what that's all about - ds never had any of them. Any clues anyone ?

Reading your y13 threads makes me exhausted. So glad my DD1 didn't attempt A levels (she wouldn't have succeeded) and is now on the downhill stretch of her BTEC.
Good luck to all the DCs for the exams.

Back, DD went on two Offer Holders Day - is it something similar? Hers were more about the course - lectures and stuff I think.

Teta, I have 2 revising DC too - As well as DD supposedly revising for her A's, despite still being pretty unwell, DS is working really hard for his GCSES too. I am NOT looking forward to mid May to late June!

I cannot wait to get this last bit finished!!!

Dd has one more applicants day and then hopefully we'll have a decision. She had mock lectures at the last one.

She has one more piece of work to finish her btec dance and then it's just 2 A levels to revise for.

Some of her school time has been really horrible, but it still feels like the end of something special.

DS is focusing on his computer science project this holiday but he also has some maths papers to tackle too. I am trying to be interested and encouraging when he talks to me about it but not get too involved - if this goes well he will be miles away when he does his next exams!

Back - my DD's 'applicant days' all included some form of interview, but afaik most don't. But there were also better lab tours than on the open day, chance to talk to students and staff, accommodation tours.

She started today requesting more leads for her mechanical pencil, hardly seen her since except a couple of times for food, but she's going to have tomorrow off and come out for a hilly yomp with us.

My two don't break up for Easter for another week.

DS1 had his final EPQ deadline yesterday, which he complied with by the skin of his teeth, following an IT malfunction the previous evening. Don't even get me started on how many times I've told him it would be a good idea to have a back-up.....

knowing how quickly the past year has gone between gcses and now when my dd is in year 12, I'm keeping an eye on these threads!

DD has firmed her combo of Sheffield and Swansea! On Friday, the day before her 18th birthday!
In a way the first decision of her adult life, and one I couldn't really make for her, though as she generously said it feels like something we've done together - what with all the Uni visits and discussions over the last year or so.
We had a nice day on Saturday when sun came out enough for a little BBQ in the garden.
Am hoping she might make some choices around accommodation this week, and we need to see if we can make some progress on Uni finance too.
Everyone is telling me it's not too onorous, and I think we have the P60 so I hope they're right!

I'm micromanaging ds1 for his revision (12) doing common entrance but desperately trying not to manage dd for her A levels. She seems to revise intensively until late at night but had this weekend off mostly apart from late nights. She was miffed as her friends went to a club and she is not yet 18.Some had false ID but dd is half Asian so it's difficult to falsify ID.

Juggling Grin

Teta - DD keeps moaning about not being 18 and all her friends are clubbing. She could get away with looking 18. Her lovely friends have saved a couple of clubs they're not going to visit until she can go with them. I pointed out that I've never been clubbing, but I wasn't invited Wink

DD went clubbing on Saturday night in central London. She says the bouncers scan your ID, the software checks if it's legit, and then your face and age flash up on a screen. No getting away with anything there HSM Wink

On Sunday we went to her youth orchestra concert. I give her full credit for getting up in the morning and getting on with it after her late night. I got a bit choked up when she took a bow after her solo Blush. It's her last concert ever with this group. Y13 is full of lasts, isn't it?

bigTillyMint · 03/04/2017 17:34

HSM, DD has fake ID but she rarely gets asked for it in pubs/clubs despite being only 5'2", but they don't go into central London!

Report
HSMMaCM · 03/04/2017 18:43

No plans to take a trip to London clubbing I don't think and no fake ID as far as I know.

Aginghippy I find myself getting a bit sad about lasts. DD has a dance show at the end of April and I fear it might be the last time I see her dance (which is a crying shame for such a talented dancer).
