Archers Thank you, @PseudoBadger, for kicking off this long, long series of Archers threads and @DadDadDad for being our resident statistician and keeping the ball rolling when Pseudo stepped back a bit and more recently when someone forgot they had promised to start the next thread, ahem.

Archers All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to be Susan's best friend or other unusual views. Grin

Archers Spoilers: not on this thread, please. We don't wait for the omnibus to discuss the weeknight episodes, but we do try our best to avoid cross-contamination from this thread, where spoilers are positively welcomed!

Archers For newer listeners, lurkers or those who just have no idea what we're talking about, DadDadDad has created this useful thread: //www.mumsnet.com/Talk/radio_addicts/3557323-For-Archers-fans-a-guide-to-acronyms-on-the-long-running-discussion-threads-and-any-other-meta-thread-questions-you-may-have BOOP point for him! (See thread for explanation.)

Archers Thanks also to LillianGish for the splendid thread title. As actor Edward Kelsey died last month, we have probably heard Joe Grundy for the last time, or will do very shortly. Sad RIP Mr Kelsey; many thanks for creating a wonderfully vivid character, gnarly toenails and all.

As pointed out on the last thread, we're getting very close now to the 100th birthday of June Spencer, who plays Peggy Woolley. What an achievement! I hope the team manage to squeeze Peggy into that day's episode, come what may.

Thanks, Gabrielle. Glad to have you driving the bus. I'm sure there's a really good pig's milk joke that didn't quite come to fruition on the last thread...

Pigs milk - must be sow-er (sour Grin). Checking in with a pun. Well done Nelson.

Anyway-as I was saying. If Jazzer and Rex do buy pigs wht will they do with them? Just take them to market? Because Tom won’t want them supplying him for sausages, will he?

Report
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/05/2019 16:52

I think he said he would be buying in the pork to make sausages, so theirs would be as good as anyone else's, if they have managed miraculously to make Hollowtree organic; it never was before.

What is confusing is that Tom has been getting weaners from Rex, and they wouldn't have been organic for a couple of years, where ones from Willow Farm land would have been.

Graham Harvey was the Organic Farming expert; has he gone away again again?

Tom won’t want them supplying him for sausages, will he?

Why not? Bridge Farm makes a big deal of their ‘locally sourced’ produce. And look what happened when Helen outsourced the milk for her cheese. Surely a Rex/Jazzer outfit would be a better bet than any other? Mate’s rates too ... (Possibly.)

Thank you GabrielleNelson - comprehensive as always! Star

Other momentous things coming: the prodigal heir going into exile (probably). And what’s going on with Lexi? And surely Phoebe must have a job lined up - that’s not in Felpersham? But mostly we need Tim to slide inexorably into the sink hole, without dragging Ed with him.

Thanks, Fink! I've had a few names over the years. The last one before this reflected my fondness for a Bendicks confectionery product that comes wrapped in green foil and the one I still miss was Terry Pratchett-related.

I loved that ripping sound as William shut the door on Elizabeth. No pause for reflection, just rip, rip, rip as he put her leaflets straight into the recycling (I hope, rather than the bin). What a dunderhead he is. She was very naive to think he'd pay any attention to her suggestions, but he has all the emotional and intellectual depth of a toilet brush.

David going postal was rather good fun too.

Will and Elizabeth were lovely. I adore it when they put unexpected characters together. Bet he’ll look at the leaflet eventually ...

And I am so proud of Freddie.

Thanks for the shiny new thread Gabrielle, and Lillian for the title.

Enjoyed today's ep except for David throwing a mantrum. He always sounds like he's acting when he gets angry.
