Anyone completing next week?

How long have you known it's definitely on? How's the packing going? How are you feeling about things etc?

Our exchange and completion date didn't exactly work out well for us as we were meant to be away this week, but after complications in the chain there's a mortgage offer that runs out on 25 June so really had to be then. Exchange took place on Friday, literally found out as we were walking through the door to go away, so we decided to just have a break and came back late Sunday.

Husband had yesterday off, so we got our bedroom packed up, a couple of boxes in the kitchen and in the conservatory. He's gone back to work as he has commitments at work next, so feels it's good to be in this week as he's had to let people down next week. The rest is down to me - I've packed eight boxes this morning and am feeling tired - I guess that's down to the stress of waiting for exchange (supposedly everyone was ready 48 hours before it happened), going away and have been busy sorting things out.

Removers supplied 47 boxes. Looking at what we've done, I suspect we might run out.

I was really looking forward to moving originally, but with the delay and stress over the last few days, I think I'm done in - it's just like I'm going through the motions.

We are supposed to be, in that the date was suggested by someone in the chain and we agreed. No exchange yet, no replies to our questions to vendors and no idea how rest of the chain is coming together.
I feel like I'm in limbo. I can't start to pack and feeling very unmotivated as I'm certain nothing will happen. To be honest this feeling of uncertainty is spoiling my final week/s in the home we have loved for years.
Glad you've started to pack - good luck!

Have booked packing service so haven't even started packing, I have decluttered massively though, just the loft to do.

Oh, we had the date for months but exchange took much longer than expected. We were supposed to exchange back in April for a June completion but had all sorts of dramas.

Thankfully all done now and on the home stretch, so to speak.

We exchanged last Monday (9th) and due to complete on 4th July. We're doing the move ourselves as only down the road. Have packed up the kids' crap and some books. Have managed to fill about 10 boxes so far Shock. Luckily we're overlapping by a week with our rental property so we can at least do it in stages if need be.

I hate packing Angry

I can't think for one moment that we will complete next week. I don't work well with uncertainty.

In the same position as Augusta - supposed to exchange last Friday but couldn't as the link above us suddenly turned out to have no mortgage Hmm but the top of the chain is pressurising everyone to complete on the 27th or they'll pull out. Not quite sure how they're going to manage to get a mortgage deal in that timeframe. And we've been in this bloody process for almost a year now and I JUST WANT MY HOUSE!! Ahem.

AugustaProdworthy - get the agents to do their job and coordinate between all parties. There are five sales and our agent was able to get information from the bottom buyer's agents, and by last week she knew exactly who was acting and was emailing them direct clearly stating the facts, and gently suggesting they make sure their clients checked with their solicitors they really were ready. Your solicitor will have a fair idea if those either side can be ready in time.

WorrisomeHeart, ask the agent if they can smooth things over pointing out that if the buyer does pull out, he will have to start all over again and who knows what sort of chain he will get into - as things stand now most of you have done the work, have buyers set up to buy and when something similar happened to us, they did this and it worked.
