38+ weeks, pink discharge ?

Morning all,

This is my second pregnancy, I had the first one at 37 weeks so at nearly 39 weeks, I am unto uncharted territory for me.

For the last 12 hours or so, I've had what I can only describe as a pink discharge, so I guess mildly blood tinged. Not profuse, just so it shows on a knicker liner, or when I wipe . If I've been sitting for a while, I can feel it 'dripping', almost like I've got my period, but forgotten to put tampon in (I can't believe I'm writing this!). I've had noticeable BH since about 16 weeks, but they have definitely been stronger, more uncomfortable and frequent for the last week/10 days. No show or anything.

The only other time I've had anything similar was after sex about 2 months ago, and it was very transient, and I knew what had caused it so wasn't concerned.

I first noticed it being pink was as I was about to go to bed, and thinking it might be the start of things, decided I'd wait overnight and see, but the night before had the same sensation of dripping, but no pink. The question is, should I be going in to be checked if my waters have broken, or waiting to see what happens, as with no.1, my waters went with a splash and contractions started about 5 hours later, but I was told I musn't let it go longer than 24 hours from breaking. I have a midwife appointment later this afternoon, so I could just wait until then? I can still feel the baby squirming as normal.

Thanks.

Could it be your show?

I would definitely bring it up with your midwife, as soon as you get in there. Good luck!

I don't know - the last time my show was a very obvious mucus plug which came out with the pop and splash when my waters broke. This is more like an occasionally leaky tap!

Although I am desperate to get this one out, as I am so uncomfortable, I really need it to wait until at least tomorrow for various reasons unrelated to pregnancy.
