Symptoms BEFORE a missed period

As the title says, what were your symptoms of pregnancy before you missed your period. My periods are completely all over the place and it's not something I can keep track of. I'm currently feeling pregnant, but not sure as my last baby was born 2years ago (amazing what baby brain can make you forget). I have a weird swelling feeling in my tummy, along with cramps, dizzyness, feeling faint, really REALLY tired and peeing loads. Anyone felt the same as me or am I just being completely crazy? With my last pregnancy I just remember being tired and having a few cramps early on. So I'm not sure at all.

I will test, if symptoms carry on. However I don't want to go out today and spend £15 on an early test just in case I'm imagining it all. Has anyone else experienced any symptoms early on before they missed a period? And if so, what were they? Thanks in advance.

No symptoms before missed period with all 3 of mine, but I got a BFP 6 days before my period was due with an Internet cheapie test so no need to spend £15 on a test.

Sore boobs for me with both of my pregnancies. Really heavy and painful x

Sore boobs! Nothing else at all that early though.

The only symptom I had at that stage was an increase in cervical mucus towards the end of my cycle, when it would usually be drying up.

I do think a lot of it could be wishful thinking. Sore boobs was my only symptom and not until period was due. All the other things you've mentioned didn't show up til 5-6 weeks. Doesn't mean you're not pregnant of course but likely to be unrelated!

My boobs were my indicators, they were sore. A different sore feeling to normal due on soreness. That's all I had and I got my positive 4-5 days before period was due.

Hey, my period is usually between 21-26 days (past year)
I'm on day 31 nothing (never this late) and have very painful boobs and waking up at night to pee which I never do but have for the last 4 days.
We have only started trying to conceive for 1 month and was in honeymoon so not tracking cycles.
Actually now a bit scared now lol
Interesting to hear the early signs Smile

I kept feeling like I was about to get my period as had lots of cramps. I also had vivid dreams about giving birth.

I'm another one who had the very sore and tender boobs, no other symptoms.

I didn't really get symptoms prior to the missed period other than a sore throat and some cramping which wasn't like my usual PMS and period cramps.

I have some gynaecological issues and was feeling suspiciously pain free so I had a feeling something was up Grin so I guess my lack of symptoms was a symptom in itself?

With No. 1 I had cramping. Like persistent period cramps but not quite as painful and just felt a little different (with hindsight, at the time I just thought period was imminent any day).

With No. 2 I noticed I was peeing a lot.

Trouble with symptom spotting is that so many premenstrual symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms are identical, as they are caused by the same hormone. Our first month of TTC I had so many symptoms and was certain I was pregnant, but of course I wasn't.

@sagasleathertrousers unfortunately not wishful thinking. SadA baby right now wouldn't be ideal for me. And I do feel awful for saying that as I know lots of people on here struggle conceiving. If I am pregnant, it was not planned. I would of course carry on with the pregnancy but it wouldn't be an ideal situation, which is why I'm so anxious about possibly being pregnant. My periods are crazy, so I cannot go off a 'cycle'. The only thing I can compare to is my last pregnancy but it feels like so long ago so I thought I'd ask others. I'm trying to put my own mind at rest that I'm not pregnant. Thank you Smile

& Thanks to the PP who mentioned the cheap tests, I will buy a couple and maybe do 1 a week for the next 2-3 weeks. Smile

Sore boobs but I knew I was pregnant when I felt sick in the middle of the afternoon. No other feeling like morning sickness though it was all day sickness with me.

Just poured myself a coffee and it tastes bloody horrid. I have a slight taste of the coffee and then a disgusting earthy/metally aftertaste. Same coffee I always use, same pack I used last week. Stored the same and made the same. Sad will be picking up cheap tests tomorrow and doing one ASAP.

Also DC is being more clingy than usual. The cramps haven't subsided. And I have peed about a million times.

Yep...very slight nausea that passed after an hour or so (but very unusual for me) and sore boobs plus bloating.

If you order test strips off amazon they’re 15 for £3.25. I got a BFP 6 days before my period was due with those.

I always woke up with a very dry mouth as though i had been drinking or had a salty takeaway the night before. Always happened before BFP and not on the months that i didn't concieve so not a cycle related thing for me

My first symptom was literally 5 days dpo, which was weird "stretchy" pains in my uterus. Everything felt slightly swollen and also noticeable when sitting still or driving. I thought I must be insane because all the textbooks say you cannot feel anything until 2 weeks dpo, but I was so convinced it must be pg related I went out to buy folic acid as we weren't actually TTC at the time. This was the only symptom that had nothing to do with PMS...things like sore boobs or dizziness normally happen to me every month anyway.

Other symptoms that followed were sore boobs, having to pee more often and a 3-day implantation bleed a week before my period would have been due. And same as namechanging, I went off coffee completely! Bitter things tasted much stronger so I couldn't drink coffee or eat rocket salads.

I definitely have had symptoms before missed period;

Headaches
Insomnia
Heartburn
Going off the taste of alcohol

The only one that happened with both my pregnancies was a metallicy taste at the back of my throat. A bit like when you are coming down with tonsillitis.

Other things such as sore boobs, back pain etc could equally be down to periods. I’ve certainly felt pregnant and bloated when PMSing.

Sore boobs and my fingernails suddenly started growing thick and strong.

TMI info mentioned here

I think from the dates it's still too early to take a PG test. However when wiping today the tissue was a very light pinkish colour. Not reddish pink, just slightly tinted pink which I think could possibly be implantation. I never have spotting and periods usually come very fast and heavy. Also if my memory serves me correctly I had the same type of discharge at the implantation period when PG with my 1st.
