So I was in a&e this morning with spotting and pain :( they have checked me over n booked me an emergancy scan. I'm wondering has anybody been through one? Do I still get my normal pleasant 12 weekish scan? What happens in these emergancy scans? I'm so worried it's going to take away from the lovely first scan experience x

It depends really. How far along are you? The scan is in essence the same but obviously with the added worry because of pain and spotting.

I had an emergency scan at 6 weeks. I then had my normal 12 week scan.
Had an emergency scan this Tuesday due to bleeding. Normal 20 week scan next week.
Depending on how far along you are it may be internal. Staff will be kind, and let you know what's happening when they know.

Yes I had one at nine weeks. Had normal scan still at 12 weeks.
Good luck 💐 be prepared to wait quite a long time at the actual scan.

i had one at 11week, my usual 12 week then another at 13 week and even 15 week.

Bled at 11,13 and 15...i have been diagnosed with a sub chronic haemotoma.

The scan will prob just check baby is ok and placenta and maybe see where bleedings come from. Your usual 12 week scan will be more about the dating and measurements etc.

Im sure it will be ok.
