Pregnancy

Third trimester morning sickness.

I was wondering if any of you had any knowledge about this or whether I've managed to convince myself of something that is medically impossible. I had morning sickness for the first four and a half months of pregnancy, I was sick several times a day and felt generally crap. It disappeared but in the last week or so, I'm 38 weeks now, the nausea has returned with the occasional bout of sickness.

So, here's my question: If morning sickness in early pregnancy is eased by the placenta getting up and running properly, when it returns in late pregnancy does it mean the placenta isn't working as well as it should? This is my first pregnancy and I've been monitored because my baby is so big, I'm just worried that he/she is alright in there. Is there a worried control freak emoticon?

I would talk to your midwife to put your mind at rest. Also, if your baby is big, are they monitoring you for gestational diabetes? One of the symptoms can be sickness.

Or maybe a bug?

I was sick again during the last few weeks dd nearly 8 months old now. I just put it down to extra hormones and body preparing itself for labour. Always worth telling your midwife though!

Thanks for the replies, I'm probably worrying myself over nothing. No gestational diabetes, I was tested. I think it's just a big baby, we're all very tall in our family so have an image of it curled up like an eel.

My Obs wouldn't tell me any weight guess that he had as he said it usually scares Mother's so I have no idea. Going to see my midwife on Friday so I'll hound her with my questions then.
