Sadly our thread died a death after a really good antenatal one, even if we finish now lets hear how everyone is, any plans for anymore, I know some people are expecting already, remind us about your family...
Me first, I was hereshoping on the ttc after miscarriage but then became rosylizzie, an amalgam of my two dds names My baby roisin was born 19 Dec, joining 2 brothers now 9 and 8 and a sister of 5. I had an anxious pg as she had a soft marker so missed the antenatal thread some of the time.

She has been an utter joy, the relationship with her siblings the best part. Yes life is busy but great. We have also moved house this year.
She is crawling and cruising and trying to say her siblings names
She has copper hair and brown eyes like her sister
Not currently expecting though ones of our dogs is! but quite tempted by another though have spent all year trying to talk myself out of it
Come on everyone!! Lets hear from you all!!

Hi Rosylizzie

My DD2 will be 1 on the same day as yours

She started walking properly 2 weeks ago now and hasn't stopped since.

She's great fun, loves playing hide and seek, is a great little person, laughs a lot but also looks very serious and frowns a lot too as she takes it all in.

She claps, copies us making noises and blows raspberries back at us. Has some great noises and sometimes it sounds like she can say 'muma' and 'dada' but not sure if it's me imagining it.

She has her bottom and top 2 teeth, eats well, in fact loves her food and really happy when shes left alone to feed herself, loves her sister, when she's not being strangled by her in an overly affectionate hug!

Life is great

hiya,
Good to see you on here and had wondered where you had gone too, obviously missed the name change.
Well Alex-Leigh was born on same day as your DD.
She is a little madam and a little miracle all rolled in to one. Am seeing her potential to cause mischief already and is proving to all the children at the many toddler groups we attend that she is not to be messed with!
With 8 teeth (4 top and 4 bottom) she is an olympic eater and refuses to be spoon fed and today fed her self fish pie with a fork and spoon!! Bit messy but definately more in mouth that over her!!!!
Cruising and toddling 3 steps before making a dramatic dive to the floor and looking around for symapthy or praise!!
Alex-Leigh is absolutely adoring her dollies and refuses to go to bed without 3 of the many she already owns!!
Finding motherhood and working full time a strain but then who doesnt!
No big birthday plans here really just a party with my other childminder friends and their mindees (say not big but when we all get together it equates to 5 adults and 17 children all under 5!!!)

Hi all
Finally find a second to update you all, following our move back down under!
We've been here a month now and are loving it. Been a hectic first few weeks, with finding a house to rent, car to buy, dh finding a month long work contract to start with and dd1 a school to start at at the end of January. Our container was delivered to our house last week so we are slowing unpacking, done the basics at least so it's looking like a home at least and dd1 was thrilled to see everything that she had watched being packed up in England had arrived.
Dh is enjoying it, being his first time living here (although he'd been here on holiday a few times previously) and we both think we've made the right decision, especially for the dd's, as dd1 especially is thriving in the hot weather, outside all the time and her swimming and general confidence has improved so much already. dd2 is taking longer to adjust to the heat, but as this is her first real summer, that's to be expected. No one here had met her yet, or had seen dd1 in 2 years so they had been thoroughly spoilt by my family here!
Can you believe our little December babes will be 1 soon! dd2 on Xmas day no less! We're looking at splitting the day in half this year, the morning for Xmas and the afternoon for her 1st b'day. That way dd1 doesn't miss out on Xmas either. Not sure what we'll do next year onwards but this year dd2 won't know any different! What are you thinking of doing DQ, for the other Xmas baby?
How is everyone else?

helloooo all
Well update from here is
Hannah is one on 16th dec and has a total of 4 teeth..lol 2 top 2 bottom but teething like a demon. She is a lovely little thing who despite a few medical probs like the asthma/eczema/herniated belly button etc etc[the list goes on] is an absolute delight to be around and is always happy. She crawls, cruises and can take 8 steps or so when the feeling comes upon her although she is getting more adventerous with it. She adores her big brother and babbles away constantly with some very definete words including Adam..lol Am wondering how she will take to having a new bro/sis in jan as she can get a little jealous and unfortunately is also a biter! Adam is fab growing up a lot and loves his sister and looking forward to the new baby who he talks to a lot and has decided it is a boy!

Hi all,
Its been ages since I have been on here, glad to see so many of you still around. I can't believe that our little beans are nearly 1!! Dylan is 1 on the 23rd December, hasn't time flown by!! He is doing really well, he has 4 teath with another 2 just appearing this week. He is small for his age but he is crawling all over the place and stands up and shuffles along the sofa letting go every now and then when he feels brave. The only problem I have with him is sleeping, I have lived on about 3 hours sleep a night with him since around June. Before that he used to wake up once a night now it can be up to 6/7 times. Last night he screamed for 3 hours while I tried to make him go back to sleep but all he wanted to do was play, I crawled into bed at 5 this morning and left him fast asleep whilst I came to work. Any ideas and suggestions are greatly apprecaited as I am not sure how much more I can take of this. Apart from that he is a happy little chappie all day, he says quite a few words including Muma and Dada. He is just so cute but needs to sleep!!
Other news is that I am now a Registered Childminder and will be leaving work at Christmas to start minding in January, I am looking forward to that but am a bit nervous too. I hit the big 30 at the end of January (it looks worse written down) and then get married on March 3rd then we are going to honeymoon in the Krugar for a week then fly down to Cape Town to meet the children for another 2 weeks. Very exciting times at the moment but also very busy.

As for Dylan's 1st Birthday, we are having people round for drinks and nibbles and then we are going to enjoy our first proper Christmas together, seeing as Dylan didn't make it home for last Christmas.

I still can't believe they are going to be one. Does anyone else feel emotional about them turning one...........I want him to stay a baby forever!

OH how fab to see you guys! YEY! Well Daisy is one on christmas day, this year we are having a tea party on boxing Day for her. strict instructions to everyone that there must be separate gifts for cmas and b-day! LOL but I admit christmas will never ever be as good as last year, having her the early hours of cmas day was just PERFECT and soooooooooo special!
Daisy has 4.5 teeth and is into everything!!! she can cruise, crawl and step between things too. she adores crossiants too lol. She has been i hspital several AWFUL times for kidney infections and has quite a few tests coming up this month and december for her kidneys. UGH Shes a sweet sweet girl, alittle bit of trouble I think brewing in her but very very gorgeous so she will get away with it
Scully I cant believe youre back down under! sounds fabulous, where abouts are you?
We have a long trip across part of USA planned for next year, and I cant wait, tho the flight with an 18mth old Daisy is worrying me slightly....
Hope to keep catching up with you all.

Ohhh, I feel a long post coming on!

I'm so glad I found this thread (thanks DQ for pointing me in the right direction!) It's great to catch up with you all!

Well, Lucas will be one on 8th Dec (only just over a week away, I can't believe it!). He has 6 teeth (2 bottom and 4 top) which all came through together and gave us a couple of weeks from hell. He seems to have stopped for the meantime and we have our happy little boy back.

He is sleeping well which is great after the first few weeks when I remember not getting any sleep at all - Kangel I feel for you so much, have you tried giving him a dummy? I swore I wouldn't with Lucas but I did resort to one in the end and now he sleeps soundly. Also you could try controlled crying now he is older. you can actually hire night nurses which will come and do it for you - they rekon they can crack it in about 2 nights! Do you still feed him at night?

Lucas has been walking for the last few weeks and so I have enrolled him in Tumble tots classes as part of his b'day present. I think he is going to love getting into mischief with his cousin who is coming with us. The only problem with him walking quite early is that I can't find any walking shoes to fit him as his feet are too small - they all seem to start at size 4 and they look like clown shoes on him! He is in cruising shoes from Clarks but they aren't much good outdoors in this weather.

I agree that the best part about having him is the relationship he has with dd. They love each other so much and it warms my heart when they chuckle together (usually because they are foing something naughty) but it makes me smile so never mind! I would love to fill my house with lots more babies and have a huge family but I don't think I could stand pregnancy again. After loosing a little boy before Lucas my pregnancy with him was quite fraught and it's not something I'd want to go through again. Dh and I have spoken about perhaps fostering one day and I have been considering donating my eggs but thats a whole other story!

Scully - I so jelous of you being in Aus. Dh and I have been trying to decide where to go on holiday next year. We are considering long haul but think we may stay within Europe for one more year - well we'll see!

I'm really enjoying being a part-time career woman! I love the fact I am at home with Lucas more than I'm at work but it still gives me that time awy which I think I need.

Lastly, for Lucas's birthday we are doing Tumble tots in the morning and then his bog sister is taking him to an indoor play area after school with her cousins. Then it's back to ours for tea, cake a take away for tea and lots of family visiting with presents!

Right, think thats me done - sorry it's so long (and I'm really busy at work today but I couldn't resis posting!)

Hi everyone, how lovely to find some updates here.
(Sorry, I've shortened from Georgeandwigglyjake to a name that seems to be utter nonsense if you are confused as to who I am!!)

I know I don't get time to post on here much nowadays but I really do like to catch up on how everyone and all the babies are.
I do miss nattering away but it makes me feel terribly guilty writing about Jakey when I could be spending more time with him (our computer is tucked away in another room and it is too small for him to roam in). Maybe things will change if we ever get a laptop.

It sounds as though Jakey is lagging behind a bit. Being a bit of a lazy boy he only started crawling 2 weeks ago and has only just had 2 teeth appear. He does like making noise though (along with the rest of his family) so has a great set of jungle screeches and hoots plus Muma, dada, nana and cat.

Work is now a distant memory and I'm a proper SAHM (ie, I have no money and my hands smell of bleach) and I'm really enjoying it. Who would ever have believed that I would have some maternal instincts!

Hope to see some of you back here soon
x

Hiya everyone
Happy birthday to all the bubs who have turned 1 so far. dd2's big day is Xmas Day, with the little darling being 8 days late and all, but she is so gorgeous, what can you do
She has 8 teeth (they've come through 2 at a time ), has been crawling furiously for a while now and just in the last couple of weeks has got a lot better at balancing without holding on. No proper steps though, not that I am in any hurry for that! Her and dd1 still get on very well most of the time and they are even sharing a room for the moment, as it works better in the house we are renting. We're settling in here in Brisbane, and getting use to the pace and the weather and where everything is and how it's done here! Not having lived in Australia for 11yrs, and dh never having lived here, it's all been a big adventure, but one that we're enjoying and so far think has been the right decision for us. For dd2's b'day we're spending the morning at home as a family, doing Xmas presents etc for dd1, and then heading to my dad's house for Xmas lunch followed by the b'day celebrations. DQ I've also made mention of no joint presents until she is old enough to request it and this year at least we will split the day in two so we can celebrate both. Will have to decide about what to do in future years, as she gets older, but we're thinking maybe a b'day celebration on 25/11, then at least that date works better for b'day parties when she's older, with school here breaking up for summer holidays around the 1st or 2nd week of December.
Anyway, enough babbling, hope you and your babes are all well and happy and not too cold (sorry, couldn't resist!!)

Hi all,

Well George is now 13 months old

He walks everywhere or should I say runs everywhere, their really is no stopping him.

I have started back at college, I was going to do nursing and midwifery but have now decided to swap to teaching, I have been told this is fine and even thougbwe are a term in most of the work we have done is transferable so hopefully in 4-5 years time I will be a fully qualified teacher.

Things have been a little rotten round here lately, I lost my part time job and my Grandpa has died but we have George so I am happy, even though he does have an ear infection that just won't go away.

Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and that 2007 is the best one yet.

So how was everyone's New Year? We went to a party at a friend's house and both dd's slept through a lot of the festivities
Hope you all had a wonderful time bringing in 2007, can you believe our little people will be 2 this year, thankfully that's a way away yet though
dd2 is now power walking most of the time and has had 4 more teeth appear this week! Her other 8 teeth had come through 2 at a time, but this week she decided to speed up the process even more and she now has 12 Sharp little things they are too, as she keeps biting our shoulders when we carry her
Can't complain too much though, she has such a lovely nature and is very relaxed and smiley, it's hard to imagine life without her.
dd1 starts school in 4wks , I have mixed emotions about that, as I know she is very ready to, but it will still be sad, seeing my first baby in her uniform and going into a proper classroom.

Hi all,

Well xmas was very busy and great - New Year wa alot quieter as we all came down with a horrible, cold/cough virus type thing. At first I thought Lucas just had more teeth coming through but he has been unwell for over a week and no new teeth. His temp has been spiking between normal and up to about 103. He seems to be better now which is good and me and dh are also over the worst of it.

Lucas is enjoying all his xmas presents and my dd has also enjoyed playing with them even though she is 6.5! They play so nicely together.

How was everyone else's xmas / new year?

Scully, I'm so jelous of you being in the sun shine - I love summer, it is by far the best season! Although I don't think I could eat a full christmas dinner in the heat.

I agree Sweetheart, too hot for the traditional hot Xmas meal, so we had a huge selection of cold dishes to choose from, everyone bought something, lasagne, sushi, roast pork and lamb, calamari, prawns, salads, roasted peppers, corgettes and aubergines. My stepmother is Italian and my step-brother's wife is Japanese hence the mixture of food at the table! And this was before the cheese and fruit platters and dessert, plus dd2's birthday cake!! But we were at my dad's place for 7hrs, so took our time with the courses

Happy new year to my old antenatal friends! how are our one yr olds doing? i LOVE this age, dont you?
Daisy is walking as much as poss and into everything. seems shes a bit of a climber -scaring me to death on a regular basis, as I discover shes climbed on to something else!!
Mollie is now at preschool and so I am alone with Daisy mostmornings -weird feeling being just with one, when I have four!-
Daisy has seven teeth (eight nearly lol) and is still bf. she has delightful strawberry blonde hair, which is curly and messy. her eyes are blue as can be and shes a total charmer. Shes not so talkative as her siblings were at this age, but I suspect she cant get a word in edgeways... still she can say nooooo with much head shaking dada, mumma, georgia (or rather dorge da), maa (for mollie) and grandad

Scully, we had her tea party on boxing day, so as not to confuse her day with christmas generally, and have decided on the day before Christmas eve from now on -nobody was really in the mood boxing day- so decided her birthday should be FIRST before everyone else gets gifts bless our Christmas Day Babies!

would love to see pics of all our lo at some point and at least catch up with you all

Had a horrible day yesterday had to take Lucas to hospital!

I was getting roast pots out of the oven and he wondered into the kitchen, as I tried to get him away I dropped the pots splashing boiling oil all over him - he only had a nappy and socks on poor little mite!

He is mostly ok - his burns have been dressed and there is nothing too major - thank god! I have to take him back to hospital tomorrow to have them checked.

I was so worried about taking him - you hear these horror stories of people having their children taken from them

Still, he seems fine and is loving the attention! It's just me thats feeling down for hurting him!

I got told y the HV that George doesn't know enough words He is 13 months old (this was his 8 month check by the way and a HV I have never ever met as we haven't seen one since leaving Polegate last May) and he says Mumma, Dadadadadad, hello, bye bye and here you are. He constantly chatters away and communicates wonderully well.

These bloody people are a waste of flippin time, I feel like starting a thread about it but don't want to start an argument to make matters worse G walked up to her and gave her one of his toys and said "here you are" and she totally ignored him, she took the item and carried on telling me how to make him communicate more effectively.

Rant over!

How is everyone? Hope you are all OK, especially those of you who have just had another LO!!
