Pushchairs-unsure when to transition

Hi all.. So I am just wondering when you all transitioned from a cot Pram (is that what you call itHmm) to a push chair. My lo is getting a bit big for his cot pram but not sitting up yet- he is a big baby.

About 6 months. I loved the pram but at that age they started to want to see out and tried to launch themselves out tummy first

5 and half months. Carrycot was big ( bug cameleon) and baby was small. Found it really handy for daytime naps .

We have a recliner pushchair so dd was in that from about 4 months, only because she outgrew her carrycot. HV's say not to put them into a pushchair until they can comfortably sit up, but also consider whether they're awake and alert enough for it.

I put ds in it when he was 3 months due to reflux and his gp said so but I think it's 6 months

Pretty much when I started weaning, I.e. They could sit up supported, were looking around and awake more etc.
Dc1,about 4.5 months (GPs advice to wean early)
Dc2 about 5.5 months

Do you mean the carrycot part? About 7.5 months both times, as that was when they began pulling themselves up

Thanks for all your replies I suppose I'll just have to work something out when the time comes. I have a reclining push chair x

Four months but wish I'd done it earlier. Dd hated the carrycot part and screamed constantly. We have a push chair that lies nearly flat though.

I think my DD was only about 3.5 months, but I used an infant support thing with a wedge and a head holder. Swapped her because she screamed blue fucking murder every moment she was in the carrycot. She was a million times happier propped up.

BigWLittleJ · 07/07/2016 20:37

About four months for DS1. He had really bad reflux and was much happier elevated. The pushchair was really padded and supported him well.

DS2 was laid flat in a double buggy from birth until about 5/6 months when he started to try to sit up.

My lo has reflux too so I'm sure he will be happier! I'll have to have a mess around with it and see what j can do to support him.. Thanks everyone X

Where did you get the infant support and wedge? X

I switched at about 5 months. DD was sitting up unsupported at 4.5months though, and wasn't happy at all about lying flat!

I got the one made for the Uppababy here, not sure if there's a universal one.
