This is the feedback thread for the 120 Mumsnet users who have been testing The Nue Co.’s BARRIER CULTURE range. BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER is designed to clean the skin without stripping it or disrupting your skin's pH, and BARRIER CULTURE MOISTURISER is designed to hydrate and repair, protect against pollution, and lock in moisture.

Here’s what Jules Miller, Founder and CEO of The Nue Co. has to say:

“When thinking about health holistically, we know that a preventative approach works far better than a reactionary one — this is true for our skin health, just as much as it is for our gut and environmental health. Our topical microbiome is just as important as our internal microbiome. In fact, it’s estimated that 21% of our microbiome lives on our skin whereas around 26% lives in our gut. To care about your microbiome, is to care about your skin.”

Selected testers were sent one 120ml BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and one 50ml BARRIER CULTURE MOISTURISER to use everyday for two weeks.

Testers, please answer the following questions on the thread below, as well as completing the short survey we have emailed you.

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

All testers who leave their feedback as required will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

    Thanks!

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

I loved the bottles, really good quality and the applicator applied just the right amount. Before, I’d been using what I know now is way too much of everything! The texture was nice and light, the cleanser foams nicely so you know it’s working and the moisturiser is not greasy at all and sinks in very quickly

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

I am amazed how much my skin has improved. Before it was dry, red, reactive, with breakouts all the time. I even have an appointment with a dermatologist next week due to this but since using these products it has massively changed my skin and I’m so grateful! The redness has gone down, no spots anymore, no dryness, so much better that I have halved my time in the morning applying thick foundation to cover it up

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

    Much more hydrated, soothed, comfortable
Massive reduction in outbreaks. I haven’t had any since using this

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I already have! I will also tell my dermatologist all about it! I haven’t seen anything else on the market that does the same thing and believe me, I’ve tried hundreds

How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

The texture of the cleanser was great. Not too thick, not to thin, it glided onto the skin and didn't leave any residue,
Same with the moisturiser, it wasn't greasy or thick, like some can be, it was perfect.

2) Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

Yes! I used to have really dry skin, and disliked putting on moisturisers because of the greasy layer they would leave on my skin, but this goes on so nicely with no residue I've happily put it on and am able to forget it's there because it's so lightweight! I noticed an improvement almost straight away after using it, and my skin has felt better every time I've used it!

3) How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

My skin feels amazing, I'm not getting the big red patches and irritation like I used to, my skin looks and feels the best it has in years!

4) Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
Yes I'd defo recommend, especially to those who have sensitive/irritable/problem skin. This has been a lifesaver, I've used so many products in the past that have never improved my skin & always made it extra dry/greasy and didn't feel nice. This didn't irritate me at all, it's so easy to use, love the bottles and made application so easy, they look great! 10/10!

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

The moisturiser was light and easy to apply, and the cleaner felt great on my skin.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

It definitely has helped with the redness and I’ve had less breakouts. It probably took about 2 weeks to notice an improvement.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

Definitely less sensitive with less breakouts, I am impressed!

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I absolutely would recommend. I usually prefer a moisturiser with an spf but this has been so good it’s worth the added annoyance of using a separate one!
StandUnderMyUmbrella · 06/05/2021 13:28
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

I absolutely loved how light both products felt to apply to my skin and when on my skin. They both were simple to use and the pumps provided enough product.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

My skin does feel smoother and less blemished. It also feels more nourished and hydrated. I feel like i noticed a difference a week in to using both these products.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

Yes, my skin feels nourished and hydrated. It feels less tight and i definitely have less blemishes than normal.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I would recommend these products as my skin is feeling and looking great at the moment, which is a pleasant surprise! They are so light and easy to use together and the packaging looks good too!
Spockster · 06/05/2021 13:28

Thank you for the chance to try these products. I would never normally spend this much on skin care so it's been interesting to see what I'm missing!

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
Lovely. Both were easy to apply, I used the cleanser in the shower and my normal cleanser in the evening, because I find it easier to use micellar water on a pad than a wash cleanser at night. Neither had much scent, which was nice as smelly creams can be unpleasant. The cleanser lathered up nicely and I didn't need to use much. The moisturiser was really nice to use, spread easily and absorbed without leaving any excess, but my skin felt soft and not at all tight or uncomfortable.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
My skin is pretty good and I noticed no real change.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
Not at all sensitive. It felt nice and hydrated, but no better to most other moisturisers. It didn't leave an oil slick or any stickiness.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
Yes, in terms of the products, but I don't think any of my friends would pay that kind of price.
bunburyscucumbersandwich · 06/05/2021 13:30
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
The moisturiser was lovely, and you don’t need much as a little goes a long way. The cleanser said 3-4 pumps, 2 is fine. Could be a little thicker though.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
Definitely. My skin felt amazing after the first time of using the cleanser, no soreness or tightness after using like with my normal products.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
Skin felt much cleaner and softer. Eczema has cleared and no flaky skin.much better hydration which lasts all day. I have had a few big whiteheads though - which isn’t usual for me.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
Yes. It’s made a real difference to my skin, which I really didn’t think it would do as I’ve spent hundreds on finding a product to suit me.
My only concern is the cost, it’s a lot more than I would usually pay.
Spockster · 06/05/2021 13:31

Ps the packaging is lovely and oozes quality; but doesn't feel very eco- friendly as it's so substantial and seems to be single use.

beepbeepbonk · 06/05/2021 13:32
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
The first time I used the cleanser it felt and smelt like using soap but without the dryness, it's a very slick gel a little goes a long way and me skin felt clean and fresh afterwards.

The moisturiser goes on well without greasiness.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

My skin feels smoother and with fewer breakouts, I felt an improvement very quickly, in a couple of days.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
gaggiagirl · 06/05/2021 13:33
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

Very simple to use. Loved the gel to almost cream texture change of the cleanser when water is added. Fragrance free. Felt pleasant on the skin.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

My skin is definitely slightly less dry and a bit more comfortable. Redness is very much reduced.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

Less red and angry after showering and cleansing. More comfortable and hydrated. No reduction in breakouts unfortunately.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I would recommend the cleanser as many people love a balm type cleanser and not all are great. This one is great. Really takes make up off the face very well. It didn't remove eye make up as well as the cheaper brand of cleanser that I currently use so I wouldn't swap to it permanently. But for others it would probably be a winner.
The moisturiser was fine. I wouldn't recommend it at that price point though. I'm not sure how effective it was although my skin is slightly more hydrated I'm not sure it's worth £45. The packaging is beautiful though and would look great in any bathroom.
bunburyscucumbersandwich · 06/05/2021 13:33

Forgot to say...

My skin feels like it usually does after a facial- but now all the time rather than just a few hours afterwards.

beepbeepbonk · 06/05/2021 13:34

    yes it’s definitely smoother

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
Ive been using a prescription skin cream for something and it’s very dry and sensitive, these products have helped hugely

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
I would as it’s no nonsense skincare and excellent for sensitive skin
Florin · 06/05/2021 13:35
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
I loved it, it dispensed just the right amount, it just glided on and was so quick and easy and didn’t feel heavy or greasy
  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
Yes I haven’t had had a spot since starting to use it which is a big thing for me but nor has it dried out my skin is which is what normally happens if I find something that gets rid of the spots then it dries it awfully but this gets rid of the spots while not be drying and making my skin feel nice and soft.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
Soft and the big thing no spots and not greasy or heavy feeling

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why? Absolutely as it’s so easy and it just glides on and produces such amazing results.
MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 06/05/2021 13:38
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
Nice texture, easy to apply. The pumps seemed quite small initially, but a little does go a very long way!

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
Haven't noticed any changes tbh, and having asked teen DD (who can be brutal!) she says there's no noticeable difference

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

Skin feels a little bit smoother perhaps, but nothing visible

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

Maybe, it's a good concept, and maybe if I'd tried on say just one side of my face, I'd've seen a difference. But the bottles will last a very very long time, as you only use a tiny amount, so would recommend the cleanser as value for money, less so for the moisturiser.
I really really wanted it to work, but for me, I'm not sure it did.
needtoseperate · 06/05/2021 13:40
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
I quite liked the texture of both and loved the smell of the cleanser

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
full disclosure- I used it once then got irritated skin under my eyes which is probably from the F3PR masks at work so left it a few days then tried it again, I could actually see the dirt in the sink and I don’t know how to describe it my skin my so ‘bright’ after a few days. I would normally use a richer dermatological moisturizer so the moisturizer was a bit light and serum-like for me but I’m happy to use it after the cleanser

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
yes to all, considering I run and swim outside in all conditions. I’m very wary of my skin looking ‘rough’ but it actually looks very smooth with this. I’m not prone to breakouts on my face so can’t really say

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
no because I want to keep it to myself
MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 06/05/2021 13:40

also meant to add, the packaging looks and feels very premium.

Sharpkat · 06/05/2021 13:41
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? - I really liked the texture - the moisturiser was really easy absorbed. I did need a few more drops than recommended though and sometimes it was a little difficult to get out.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement? I think my skin is definitely looking better and healthier after a couple of weeks. It is definitely less red.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks? My skin definitely feels more hydrated and nowhere near as sensitive. I have not had any outbreaks since using it.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why? I would, if they could afford it. It seems quite pricey to me, but I would buy it as a treat.
picklemewalnuts · 06/05/2021 13:41

How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

Smooth and silky. The cleanser was a clear gel which foams slightly as you massage on damp skin. Then wash off- I used a warm damp flannel, rinsing with water gets messy! The cleansing gel doesn't irritate the eyes at all, but isn't that effective at removing eye makeup. The moisturiser is light and smooth, absorbing quickly. I felt the need for a slightly heavier cream on top occasionally.

2) Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement? Within a few days I was less red, with less flakiness in the eyebrow/above the nose areas.

3) How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks? I don't get outbreaks anyway. I'm not sure about feeling more hydrated. It felt calm, smooth, even.

4) Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why? Definitely. It's been excellent for my skin. I've even used it on sore areas of the body to improve the skin there.
I get problems in my tummy button and ear canal- it's helped hugely. I also rate it for underarm use- repopulating the microbiome there seems to keep me smelling fresh.

The packaging is attractive, and refills are sold for the glass bottles.

picklemewalnuts · 06/05/2021 13:42

Forgot to say- I'd love a sun screen to work with this.

It's a bit pricy for me, I'm not sure I'll be able to justify buying it even though I want to.

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 06/05/2021 13:45
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
Cleanser: a gel texture that you don’t need a lot of, two pumps would do the whole face and neck easily. It doesn’t froth up like a soapy cleanser (which can be very stripping to the face) but does foam ever so slightly, almost like a fine sudsy foam, that feels nice on the face. The smell isn’t pleasant but it’s not off putting enough for me not to use it, it has an almost lactic smell to it.

Moisturiser: a gel-cream (ish) formula that very quickly sinks into the skin. I would say that it isn’t super moisturising and somebody with dry or dehydrated skin may need extra hydration in the form of a hydrating serum before or an oil or heavier cream afterwards. It’s almost closer to a serum than a cream in my opinion but I really enjoy it as I have more of an oily/combo skin type, under make up it’s great but at night I put on a bit of rose hip oil afterwards for more hydration overnight.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
Cleanser: skin feels clean and not stripped after washing and I don’t feel the immediate need to put any creams on my face after cleansing which is always a good sign in my books. I can’t say I’ve noticed a huge difference from my skin just from the cleanser alone.

Moisturiser: as I said it’s very nice under make up and great for just knocking round the house in during these COVID time. I don’t get very oily throughout the day when I use this. But my skin does look healthy and bouncy when wearing this just by itself.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
Cleanser: it just feels clean and lovely. I can’t say I saw a massive difference in skin appearance but I definitely felt a difference, my skin just felt balanced. I think it’s a joy to use and my skin seems to enjoy it.

Moisturiser: not a huge difference but I don’t get as oily during the day which I am going to put down to there being niacinamide in the formula which helps oil control and makes pores look smaller (it’s one of my favourite skin ingredients).

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
Cleanser: YES! I already have plans to buy more when it runs out and I think it is worth the slightly high price tag (around £35 I believe Confused ). It’s lovely and not something I’ve come across often in terms of formula and results.

Moisturiser: I think this is a nice moisturiser and I like the oil control it afford me but £45 for a moisturiser that I think I need an oil on top of in my evening skincare and maybe a hydrating serum for in my daytime seems excessive. It’s nice but not nice enough to splurge that much money on.

Thank you for the opportunity for trying these products, both me and DD have enjoyed using them.
Something obvious from the moment I opened the parcel was that this was pure luxury. The boxes were a beautiful heavy cream cardboard-esque with embossed silvery-pewter writing. The bottles are proper glass that are a dark amber shade. It just felt weighty and thus super luxurious. My daughter is getting me the cleanser as a birthday gift which would normally feel a little naff (a cleanser as gift) but this cleanser just feels and looks so luxe. And we both have our eye on some other products in the range. Smile
Uptoongirl · 06/05/2021 13:53
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?
Loved the moisturiser, felt light and nice to apply but also very moisturising and nourishing. The cleanser was really nice also, I used it as as a second cleanse after a balm cleanser and it felt like it was doing it's job without that tight, dry feeling. Also loved the fact I could flannel it off my face whereas most similar cleansers you need to splash your face with water.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?
I noticed from the first application my skin had no tightness or flaking, a few weeks later and my skin feels really nice and soft.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?
My skin definitely feels more hydrated and less sensitive. We've had a lot of changeable weather recently which often would leave me with dry, irritated skin but this hasn't happened.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?
Yes, I would recommend it to anyone looking for skin care which is very hydrating and soothing. The packing looks great in my bathroom and I like the fact it's not heavily fragranced.
SirVixofVixHall · 06/05/2021 13:56
  1. Texture and application -

I liked the texture of both products, and my teenage dd who was trying it along with me also liked that the moisturiser is very light, sinks in quickly, and doesn’t have any scent. The cleanser only needs one tiny pump to clean a whole face, so I think it will last ages, and the moisturiser as dd says, sinks in quickly.

  1. Has using the Barrier Culture cleanser and moisturiser improved your overall skin condition and if so how quickly ?

- My skin felt very comfortable after using both products. After a week I noticed that my skin looked smoother, and more fine textured, with less redness . ( I have pale celtic skin, delicate and easily irritated) .
My teenage dd has used the products but not every day, she gets rough, dry cheeks and they improved noticeably after two uses.
Neither of us gets spots so I can’t comment on those.

  1. How does your skin feel after using the Barrier Culture cleanser and Moisturiser?

My skin feels comfortable, and less irritable. It looks even toned and healthy. My teenage daughter has rough, red skin on her cheeks that has become smoother and calmer. We don’t get spots but our skin is definitely looking nicer.
4. Would you recommend using Barrier Culture Cleanser and Moisturiser to a friend and why ?
Yes I would definitely recommend using the products. I love the fact that there is no scent, that they leave my skin calm and comfortable, and the look of my skin and my teenage dds skin. I think dd will want to keep on using the products along with me, and although quite expensive the cleanser in particular is very good value as you only need a tiny amount.
Thank you for choosing me for the trial, both dd and I feel we have benefitted from the products and they are so simple and quick to use.
Brilliant for teenagers actually, as no faff, two products, no scent, and very gentle.

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

Would have preferred a thicker moisturiser as seemed a bit thin. The cleanser consistency was nice and foamed well.

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

My skin is slightly less red but it hasn’t improved any spots or overall appearance.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

No I didn’t see any reduction in spots. I didn’t react to it which is good as I have sensitive skin.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I would for a treat product as they have nice packaging but for most of my friends it would be out of their price point.
Sidge · 06/05/2021 14:00
  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

I really liked it, the cleanser was light and non sticky. It foamed slightly in the shower, and felt nice on my face. The moisturiser was very light, glided on easily. The packaging was lovely, felt very luxurious but I was nervous using the heavy glass bottles in the shower, and in my tiled bathroom!

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

I’ve been using the products for about 2-3 weeks now. I can’t say I’ve noticed a huge change in my skin. It does feel slightly smoother.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

I liked the cleanser, it left my skin feeling clean without being tight or dry. The moisturiser was lovely and light but not really rich enough for my ageing skin. I was disappointed it didn’t have any SPF. It felt nice on application, but felt a little dry a few hours later as if I needed a more moisturising product. I don’t tend to have outbreaks but did notice a few new blackheads on my chin.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I think the cost of the products is way more than any of my friend would spend on skincare, so whilst I might tell them about the lovely products I couldn’t recommend them really.

Thank you for the opportunity of trying these products! They are lovely, but I think aimed at younger women’s skin and for people willing to spend more on skincare than I do.

  1. How did you find the texture and application of the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER?

the texture and application of both was fine. The cleanser could have been a bit thicker, but ok

  2. Has using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER improved your overall skin condition? How quickly did you notice an improvement?

Not noticeably tbh. The moisturiser felt more hydrating but I don't think it's improved my skin significantly.

  3. How does your skin feel after using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER? Does it feel more hydrated, or less reactive and sensitive? Did you see a reduction in skin outbreaks?

The moisturiser is quite hydrating, but I'm not sure that it was significantly more than others I've tried. I couldn't use without my usual serum (which is the key for hydration for me) as it left my skin quite dry.

  4. Would you recommend using the BARRIER CULTURE CLEANSER and MOISTURISER to a friend and why?

I would tell them it's worth a try. The products were well presented, texture was nice, easy to use and didn't cause me problems. The benefits weren't outstanding for me, but all people are different.
