We haven't got round to doing the activity pack yet, so I will post some pics early next week when we do that. (We have been making the most of the decent weather this week!)

But I have to say that DD2 (3y8m) is a difficult customer when it comes to TV shows. She doesn't like to watch new shows much, and would much rather watch endless episodes of a handful of her favourites.

But this caught her from the start. She LOVED the mask in the pack, which probably helped, but she sat the whole way through the show, laughed, asked for more and today asked for it by name. That is a pretty big compliment in this house. :o

This is a very mumsnet thing to say, but I like the fact that it feels very gender neutral. Despite my best efforts, and the fact that I don't consider myself a girly girl, I have two pink princesses. And things like Paw Patrol get dismissed entirely as being for boys. So I was slightly worried that anything involving a dinosaur would be a major fail. But this was a hit, and that makes me happy.

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?

7.5 and 3y8m.

2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?

Really fun. I like the characters and the song at the start.

3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?

We haven't received the DVD yet, so I am not sure if there is a specific episode to comment on, but DD2's favourite character is either Digby himself or Fizzy. She is a little bit scared of Muddles.

DD1 has said she doesn't like it, but she has watched along with us every time, so I suspect she thinks its not cool enough for her, but secretly does like it. :o

4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)

I would give it 5/5

5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?

Yes absolutely. DD2 has been laughing at it, and has really enjoyed it, I think other kids would enjoy it too.

  1. 5 yo girl. My son is 7 and has autism and unfortunately showed no interest in the show or the activity pack.

  1. My summary of the show is a fun, fresh new children's show which doesn't take itself too seriously.

  1. My daughter's favourite part of any of the shows was I think in episode 3, in which the hermit crab pinches people's bottoms. Her favourite character is Digby Dragon.

  1. We both would give the show 5/5.

  1. I would recommend it. I liked the fact that there were no gender stereotypes. I didn't the the way the animation was a bit jumpy, however. My daughter really enjoyed it, as did I.

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?
3 1/2 and 2 1/2
2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?
Fun show with good characters, i prefer shows that have an educational element like blaze and wallykazam, or those with a moral like peppa pig, but it is a good show. It doesn't hold their attention as well as some shows though.
3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?
The 2 1/2 year old gets excited every time Digby manages to fly!
4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)
3- 4 stars
5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?
Yes, the kids like it which is the important thing.

We haven't had the dvd yet, or played with the activity pack, but the programme on nick jr has gone down fairly well

  1. What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?

    4.5 years old

  2. What is your overall summary of the new TV show?

Great programme for kids. The characters are very likeable and the storyline is great for a varied age group. Episode length is perfect, not too long so keeps them occupied and not bored and not too short that it's over very quickly. The storylines are played evenly throughout the episode.

  3. What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?

My son loved the flying acorns, he couldn't stop laughing. He loved that Digby was learning to fly.

Digby and chips are his favourite characters.

  4. Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)

I would give it 5/5 and so would my son.

  5. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?

Yes I would recommend it, it was a fun and friendly programme.

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?

4 and 2

2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?

A very well put together programme. The characters are lovely. My children can sit together and watch as it is appealing to them both. The length is perfect, I can easily put an episode on before my daughter's bed time with no bother.

3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?

My daughter's favourite character is Digby. She like when Digby's learning to fly. She thinks Grumpy is too grumpy!

4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)

We give Digby Dragon 5 stars

5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?

Yes, I would recommend it because it is such a lovely show, great characters, interesting stories. My kids adore it.

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?
DD aged 3 and niece aged 18 months also got involved
2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?
Digby and his friends flying - a fairy and a squirrel - DDs words, not mine
3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?
favourite part is the theme tune - kept rewinding to dance to it - and fave character is Digby
4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)
I would give 3 (but I don't think it's aimed at my age group!) DD definitely awards it 5 stars!
5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?
Yes, lovely animation and stories - the little ones got very excited when the theme tune came on, dancing around and laughing, and thank goodness we got the DVD as the show is quite short and I was having to go back into our SKY planner quite frequently to put a new one on. With the DVD she watched it a few times, back to back and thoroughly enjoyed it

DD couldn't wait to get started on the activity pack before the DVD arrived - she loved the mask and the pages to colour in, and she's also sticker-mad Grin

  1. Ds is 4
  2. my over all summary is that it is a fun new show which made us both laugh (I was hungover so possibly slightly hysterical though! )
  3. Ds best liked the bits when the sky nuts were in the sky and Digby learning to fly. His favorite character has changed about 6 times since I asked him - grumpy, mungo and digby have all been mentioned.
  4. Ds said he will give 20 out of 5 (high praise indeed!) And I give it 4.
  5. yes! We would both recommend digby, it's fun, new and refreshing. Hoping ds gets hooked on it as a nice change from paw patrol!

Also meant to add - ds loved the activity pack as you can see from photos above.... he said the stickers were awesome, the spot the difference was "too hard for mummy but I am good at them so it was just right for me"

Another photo attached of the "fun" that can be had with these stickers!!!

  1. What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?

    DD - 3 and a half

  2. What is your overall summary of the new TV show?

Beautifully animated and nice short stories that keep a child engaged. The characters are well defined and after one episode, DD was naming them as they came into the screen.

  3. What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?

She loves Digby and Fizzy - but Chips seems to be the hero!

Any sequences with Chips in involved her running about, joining in! The roller skating sequence was very popular. Particularly the end where we got a loud "Wow Mummy he can fly!"

  4. Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)

5 from us both! The best praise a TV show can get from DD is "I want another one, please!" during the closing credits

  5. If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?

Yes, engaging 10 minutes for little ones!

DD enjoyed the mask and colouring in the characters in the activity pack, too. Thanks for choosing us as testers!

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?
DS1 is 6 and DS2 will be 4 next month.

2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?
A fun show about a group of friends that all have their own unique personalities that kids can all identify with.

3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?
They loved the episode where they were all chasing the train, and laughed out loud a few times (such as when Fizzy's spells went wrong). My younger DS loved Chips, and my older liked Digby the most.

4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it?
I would give it 5/5 and my kids said they really loved it and would watch it again, so I would say that they would give it a 5/5 as well

5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?
I would definitely recommend it as a fun show for boys and girls that seems to have something for everyone. It's lighthearted, and just about the right length, even for my younger DS.

They loved the mask, and the activity book, although there were a few fights over who got do do it first. I think I'll be finding the stickers in odd places all over the house soon Grin

  1. DC are 6 and 3.1.

2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?
Seems like a nice easy to watch programme which both my DC liked. Very much like Tree Fu Tom on CBeebies (bit too similar?). Fun and friendly characters, voice of Fizzy Izzy a bit grating.
I really don't like the way some characters seem unable to pronounce their words - "gettin'" etc - very frustrating in children's TV programmes. I know some of this is down to accents but I noticed it throughout all episodes and it's really noticeable.
3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?
Digby is their fav character, my 3 year old really wants to meet him. Agree that the songs are lovely.
6 year old likes cheeky chips.
Grumpy wasn't well liked.
4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? I would give it three stars, simply due to the characters inability to pronounce their words - very annoying.
DC say 4 stars.
  1. If it came up in conversation then yes I would be fairly positive about it.

The activity pack held their attention for about three minutes then lay on the floor.

We've not looked at the activity pack yet but I'll post pictures once we do.

Also, my son had already seen this at Granny's house and insists that Digby only speaks French!

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon? 3y 10m
2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show? In my sons words "pretty good". It's well animated with a good mix of characters and quite funny.
3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character? When Digby learns to fly. His favourite character is Chips.
4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it) I'd give it 4, it doesn't grate on me the way some programmes do and it's easy to switch off to it. Son would give it 5.
5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why? Yeah, it's a good length for a quick watch (unlike Blaze and the Monster machines grrr) and I didn't find any of the characters annoying (always important when your child decides it's their new favourite thing!).

1.What are the ages of your DCs that watched Digby Dragon?

DD3 and DS7

2.What is your overall summary of the new TV show?

Gentle fun for pre-schoolers. Fun characters and quite lovely animation.

3.What was your DCs favourite part of the programme? Who was their favourite character?
4.Out of 5, how many stars would you give Digby Dragon? How many would your DC give it? (where 1 = did not enjoy at all and 5 = really enjoyed it)

They liked the little mushrooms hopping around.

DD's favourite was Digby and DS's was Chips.

It didn't keep DD's attention. DS gives it 4/5 and I give it 3/5. I found some of the voices quite annoying.

They enjoyed doing the activities together too. DD did the colouring and wanted to match the stickers to the 'meet the characters' page. She picked up their names really quickly although she insists on saying 'Digny'. DS did the more 'grown up' activities.

5.If it came up in conversation, would you recommend Digby Dragon? Why?

Sure. The DC enjoyed it and I like that style of animation. I liked the range of characters too.

Thanks MN and Nick Jr!
