Start using Mumsnet PremiumLidl have discontinued their Protein Rolls....aaaargh
(21 Posts)First world problems I know, but I am absolutely distraught. At 11g carbs they have saved the day for me so many times - when I've just needed a quick sandwich or something to dip in my soup.
If I'm not alone in my annoyance about this (I don't think I am) - could I please ask you to fill in Lidl's online feedback form. I know the Diabetics uk forum have pointed out to them that they are one of very few suitable options for many diabetics - so perhaps we low-carbers can join in the chorus, and maybe get them returned to the shelves.

Here's hoping x
I was annoyed when they discontinued their goat cheese and spinach pasties! They were absolutely scrumptious! I contacted them regarding it but that was over a year ago now and they still haven't got them back
I will drop them an email for you! My husband won't be happy as he goes to the gym and he has been saying he will be buying them protein rolls from Lidl
They did this temporarily two years ago too. Very annoying
They do a "low-gi roll" now - is that the same thing / similar?
Sadly not, the low GI rolls are about 45g carbs
Oh no, I bought some of the gi ones as I thought they were the same but round, they called the protein ones low gi for a while. I did think they looked different, haven't eaten any yet though.
I've tweeted Lidl pleading for their return.
I know- so annoying!! DS loves them and used to eat them for lunch. Hasnt found something similar- just eats nuts now.
Will fill.in form as would love to see them back
I've written to them, although it said there was a spam error when I submitted it.
I love those rolls, they're definitely the best roll they do.
That's a shame. I've been buying the livlife sliced loaf in Waitrose. £1.50 a loaf and each slice has 3.8g carbs. They are small slices mind! But handy for lunches and more filling than regular bread.

I’m gutted!
I have been using lo dough wraps though and although you need to spread your high fat topping all round they are ok for some texture. 2g carbs per wrap but so expensive I ration myself to one everyday
Oh no, I've only got one left in the freezer
Ooh, there's a petition been launched. Please sign https://www.change.org/p/lidl-lidl-to-return-protein-rolls-to-their-bakery-department?recruiter=562081193&utmsource=sharee_petition&utmmedium=copylink&utmm_campaign=psfcomboo_share_initial

Signed! Hope r5hey listen
Signed .
Signed. I complained to them myself and got the exact same reply as above.
What is going on? First the full fat Fage total yogurt, now lidl protein rolls! And my Waitrose has stopped doing celeriac rice! Won't someone think of the low carbers?!
They've lost my custom completely over this, I used to go to Lidl specially for these rolls and do other shopping while I was there, I go to Aldi instead now as it's easier to get to.
I've just come across this little fellow in Asda. I had ripped it open and eaten a slice before I got to the car. Sadly, it's no substitute for the lidl rolls...just tastes like a stale slice of dark rye
