Hi,
I’m looking to buy a property in Lincoln, as my daughter will be attending uni there.
Any suggestions on nice streets and areas greatly appreciated. I’m from Norfolk so don’t know the area at all.
Many thanks

Hello

I'm quite familiar with Lincoln. I will say that house prices in Lincoln seem quite reasonable and you can get quite a lot for your money.

The only areas close to the city centre that I would definitely try to avoid are the Monks Road area and the lower part of the High Street (around Sincil Bank). In general, the uphill area is seen as nicer, but if your daughter would be living with you then she might have a bit of a walk to and from Uni and it can be pretty steep, although there are lots of bus routes. There's lots of lovely housing around though uphill, especially if you would like to be in short walking distance to the castle/cathedral!

In general the more student areas of Lincoln are Monks Road, lower High Street and also West End because the rents tend to be a lot cheaper in these areas from what I can see.

The Boultham area which is fairly near the city centre has some nice developments on it. If you're happy being a little out of the city centre then Lincoln Road/Brant Road are nice. Also North Hykeham/South Hykeham are close by bus.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Thank you, that gives me some direction Smile
I've seen some properties in Dixon street and surrounding streets, but as she would spend a fair bit of time on her own I'm obviously looking for safest areas.
