Anyone bought a good value cabin bed recently?

Ds2 needs a new bed. He is nearly 6 and still in his toddler bed.

Ds1 was given a huge overpriced high sleeper for his 6th birthday, but it was a huge waste of money. So I think I'll go for a compromise of a cabin bed with loads of storage, but i've learned the hard way that expensive doesn't necessarily mean good quality, so I'd really appreciate a recommendation.

Budget: £200-300 (ish)

Thanks :)

anyone?

I'm now also considering one with a guest bed pull out. Are these any good?

We got stung by the overpriced branding too (stompa) although customer service was good. (I still wouldn't buy another) No suggestions although one made of solid wood rather than MDF type would be a recomendation.

We got a good cabin bed for dd2 in ikea. It doesn't come with storage but you could fit loads in under the sleeping platform - though we don't as her room is large enough to have that as a "den".
My 11 & 13 yo both have high sleepers which are great, with futon and desk underneath.

we bought some for our dds about 18 months ago, so not really recently, but not dim-and-distant past either!

We got Julian Bowen ones (Barcelona, I think?) - got 2 beds with all the assorted storage (one chest of drawers, one desk/shelves and one cupboard for each bed) plus matresses for both for around £850. so a bit more than you are looking at, but it did include new mattresses too.

we've been very happy with the beds, and the dds like them too.

Thanks all. really helpful.

Those Julian Bowen ones look good silver frog. I'm tempted to bin the cabin bed idea and get the hideaway one that has a pull out.

TBH (and I realise that this is going to sound daft) I was mainly looking at cabin beds because I din't want DS2 to feel hard done by because his bed was not the fancy highsleeper that DS1 has. But I just can't face another great big expensive bed. Maybe the bonus of his being the bed that they use for sleepovers would be enough. And having an extra bed would be really handy as we don't have a spare room any more...

I've been looking at this one from Next for DS

cabin bed

The reviews are great and it would fit in his tiny bedroom. I also liked the Odda Sarky, it would be good to have views on it.

We've just bought that next one for Ds in white, although I think that colour is discontinued now. Apart from the fact that their customer service was beyond shite, it's a great bed at a pretty good price. was worried that he'd feel a bit boxed in but he loves it.

That next one is on my shortlist too.
If only they still did it in white...

I know, I was wanting it in white too. Oh well.

The problem we have with space is that the bed needs to fit across the room width-ways, so I don't want a bookcase or storage at the end of the bed IFSWIM? It also can't be too high or else it will cut across the window, and I don't want that either! Wish I wasn't so picky.
