Can I ask a very stupid question about washing temps?

I was most of my things on 30 degrees bar towels.
if an item says on its label wash at 40 degrees, will it be detrimental to wash it at 30?

the wash label is for MAX temp, as long as it doesn't mention no soaking (ie with buckles etc) it will be fine

Nope - the 40 degrees is a suggested TOP temp. I wash everything at 30 apart from sheets, towels and jeans.

I doubt 10 degrees can make much, if any, difference.

As long as the stuff looks clean and smells clean, then it's clean isn't it?

I was asking as I returned a jumper today which has gone felt-like after one wash, and the assistant asked me how I had washed it.
I lied of course Wink

I beg to differ suzikettles - 10 degrees can make all the difference - just might be the adjustment you need to hit the right spot
