I've had 2 lately that are rubbish. I've searched mn but couldn't find a thread recommending one?

Gwenick Wed 18-May-05 13:39:48

- sorry no suggestions as mine is rubbish too.

But I read your post really quickly and thought it said "I've searched the bin" LOL

Ulysees Wed 18-May-05 13:47:17

I had to use my pestle and mortar to mash it the other day fgs!!

We have a brilliant, quite expensive in comparison, but brilliant one.
I will try and find a link to it in a mo. Best we've ever had.

ulysees - that's what I've resigned myself to until I find a decent one LOL

Ulysees Wed 18-May-05 13:50:58

is it this one?

I'm so impatient so had to do a google

Marina Wed 18-May-05 13:57:38

No, and I've failed to find the sod on Google either. I hope they've not discontinued it!
I am 99.99% certain it was Tala and I know we got it from John Lewis in Bluewater. Can't see it on their website either.
It was about a tenner but we use it very day and it is a doddle to clean.

Yahoo delivers. It is Tala.
scroll down this page
It's £8.99 and looks a bit stumpy in the photo...

I've got the one Ulysses pointed out and it is brilliant - no need to peel the cloves or anything. I'd highly recommend it.

cheers marina and listmaker x

ikea ones are great. i have 2.... and only a couple of quid.

wilbur Wed 18-May-05 14:41:49

We bought v expensive Good Grips one thinking it would last forever and it broke, really broke with metal just falling off it. Now we have an Ikea one for a tenth the price and it's great.

OldieMum Wed 18-May-05 14:44:05

We find the Good Grips one to be excellent. Very easy to clean.

fee77 Wed 18-May-05 14:47:02

I use this one
garlic genius

Listmaker Wed 18-May-05 14:47:38

Bought mine after it was voted the best one on that Food and Drink programme that used to be on BBC2!!!

Ulysees Wed 18-May-05 18:37:22

I've decided I want the zyliss one but for some reason it's over £5 p&p? Think I'll check our local cooks and kitchens tomorrow to see if they have one in.

I got a very good one from habitat use it all the time no problems.

Pricy though.

rebeccabits Wed 18-May-05 20:26:18

woolworths do a fantastic one for £5 which is self cleaning and easy to use

Ulysees Thu 19-May-05 13:07:01

Yay!! They have one in cooks and kitchens in our town centre so no paying £5 plus for p&p.

Thanks for the other suggestions rebecca and norash
