What other parts of veg can you eat?

Don't laugh!

But I really don't know what parts of the veg one usually chops off are edible. Like I recently found out you can eat cauliflower leaves and I put them in soup.

So what else?

Beetroot leaves. Radish leaves. pea shoots. Pea pods (make soup and liquidize and strain). rocket flowers. Nasturtium flowers - and seeds, if you pickle them they are like capers.
But not rhubarb leaves, they are poisonous.

I like brocolli stalk, I think it's the best bit really.

brussel sprout tops are nicer than sprouts IMO

turnip tops are good stirfried (not all, if they feel very hairy they can be a bit rough

flowering shoots of any of the cabbage tribe (brussels, kale, caulis et al), just like purple sprouting brocc

male courgette flowers (and female too, but then you don't get the courgettes)

wierdest one I know is the tip leaves of pumpkins and squashes - got this one from a guy from Tanzania, apparantly it is normal there. If your pumpkins start going mad and scrambling all over the path, pinch out the growing tips and little curled up leaves that go with them, cook them like spinach. Only some sorts are nice though, some are too bitter.

I had a bunch of beetroot leaves last week and I just chucked them!

This is great, keep 'em coming!
