Just Been.

Enjoyed it actually - much more than I thought. It made quite an impression on me first time around. The eight year olds absolutely loved it.

As usual I thought they could have shaved 20 minutes off.

Nice cameo appearances too

I though Chris Hemsworth was terrible in it but apart from that enjoyed it.

My 8 year old also enjoyed it and loved spotting all the cameos. Grin

I have no idea why all the hate for this film, the humour is childish but not anymore than the originals.

Just commented on the Ghostbusters trailer thread in Feminism chat, but I'll post here too.

Saw it today with my 2 sons and DS1's friend. We all properly LOLed in the film, the boys were helpless with laughter in a few places. When we came out DS2 said he much preferred it to the original one because the women were much funnier than the men. They also absolutely loved the Kate McKinnon character and all her crazy tech. I have slight girl crush on her too.

Am I right in thinking the receptionist in the swanky hotel was the receptionist (Janice?) from the original film?

Yes that was the receptionist Janice.

Kate McKinnon rocks, made it for me.

Saw this earlier with my DD - I really enjoyed it, better than I'd hoped it would be. The comedy was great & I really loved Leslie Jones in it. All the cameos were great - I especially loved Dan akroyds Grin

The whole cast were great - pfft to all the crap over the fact it was women this time round. I really liked the Wink to all the misogynistic abuse online. I'd definitely recommend it Smile

Somehow I can't bring myself to watch it! I must have seen the first one more than 20 times as a kid and as a consequence I'm Ghostbusted out for a lifetime.

I thought it was....fine. Cameos were fun. Chris hemsworth was wasted, the while running joke about Erin lusting after him was icky. Kids watched several bits through their fingers. So..6/10 maybe?

I will probably see it, though I don't have high expectations about it.

Just got back from watching it. The first 5 minutes made me seriously regret paying for the tickets but we really enjoyed it after that.
Loved the little nods to the original films and the cameos, the 4 main characters were trying a little too hard with the quirkiness until they were allowed to get into the story properly, Chris Hemsworth was predictably wooden.

Just watched it thought it was charmless unfunny cartoonish in its effects and so disappointing!!

What were the points of the cameos too?

I watched the original again couple weeks back as is one of my favourite films that probably made it worse. So disappointing

I saw it today and I loved it! I think it's the best depiction of scientists I've ever seen, which was unexpected but much appreciated. Lots of quirky little jokes hidden away among all the big stupid stuff too - a real treat

I was posting to say I have developed a massive Kate McKinnon crush since seeing the film, but looks like I'm not the only one Grin

I think it was good overall. Could have been better and I would have liked more Ghostbusters theme music. Dp is such a geek... as soon as we got home she taught herself to play it on her electric guitar. Love her for things like that though! Smile

Chris Hemsworth was predictably wooden. Wasn't that just the part he was playing - someone attractive but dim? Although I've never seen him in anything else so don't know what he's usually like....

Saw this today with dd (just 9 and easily scared). Had been a bit worried about the suitability re sexual references, but they were v mild - it was scarier than either of us had expected though. She covered her eyes quite a bit - but loved it overall! I thought the four females were great, and also loved the cameos. Was disappointed to read that it's been a big box-office flop Sad. We'd see it again.

Oh I loved it! I'm a huge fan of the original and I loved all the cameos, I felt Like the old 'busters were giving their nod of approval which made me love it all the more. Fuckin wonderful.

I'm not a big fan of the original, but at least it was quite fun, and Bill Murray carried the day. I thought this version is weak, with few real laughs, and also makes no use of NYC as a backdrop. The one really bright spot is Kate McKinnon who adds some crazy energy to the mix.

I love the original (and The Real Ghostbusters cartoon from the 80s) and was so disappointed by this Sad
